Bold move cheapshotting a star player on a team with Dustin Brown on it. And they play the Kings twice more.

Should just slap him with 10 and hope he stops being a dick for a while.

There have been multiple times he should've already been. Slewfooting, headbutting. Too bad about the lack of a brain because he seems like a pretty darn good player without the dirt.

Except Lemieux is way worse then his dad. His dad had at least some offensive skill.

Still my favourite (from the Young Stars tournament):

It was the Jets' original spot at 6th overall that he was taken in and he was a great pick there.

Bit of a shame to cheer for a dirty little ****, but he'll do his job just fine when he's not suspended.

I've had the same fears about Lemieux. He has shown some signs of being able to do better but it comes and goes. The Jets don't need another PIM leader.

His dad had a lot of offensive skill but was probably even dirtier than the son.

The jury is still out on Lemieux. I'm skeptical but willing to see him get a chance. I like tough play but I have no use for dirty. They are a world apart. If he can learn the difference he can be a good player.

Glad we didn't get him. I won't "cheer for a dirty little ****", no matter what jersey he wears.

That's gotta be a suspension.

Nah, flames fans are saying it was accidental and that Doughty needs to not skate into the elbow.

I'm pretty sure what Calgary is doing is a fluke. They'll go back to being mediocre next season.

Stability in net with Elliot has helped them, to bad they only signed him for this year he is going to ask for double next year.

They didn't sign him. They traded for him. This was the last year of his previous contract.

He started the season slowly IIRC. He has been a lot better more recently but he still has only a .911 sv%. That doesn't earn him a huge payday.

They signed Johnson for 1 year as a FA. They could lose both to FA and find themselves right back where they were last year again, no goalie.

He may not of earned a huge pay day but that won't stop him from asking for one, on the flip side it seems like there's is going to be a lot of UFA goalie's to pick and choose from.

Players can ask for the moon. No one is going to offer Elliott the big payday based on this season. Some team may out bid Flames for him though.

My guess is they will offer him a nice raise but nothing spectacular and he will take it. Not sure why that hasn't happened yet though. What are they waiting for? Play-offs? Is he determined to test the FA waters? In that case you would think they would have at least signed Johnson but maybe he wants to try FA too. Or maybe it is the Flames who want to check out the FA market.

Edit: The Flames don't appear to have a goalie who needs protecting. Can they find a way to use their protection to their advantage?

Playoffs could definitely play a part of what they offer Elliot, they go out quickly and they'll be players in the UFA goalie market.

Pens still have a problem with needing to protect MAF (NMC). Maybe the Flames take him off their hands after the season, before the XD.

I have no issues with the Leafs, Flames, and Oilers all making the playoffs. I think it will turn up the heat on our organization this off season.

It was depressing watching the Leafs Bruins game last night. Babcock actually has the leafs playing as a team pulling in one direction. They are not without fault but they played a tight clean 1-1 hockey game last night and remained patient. Both goalies looked sharp but the game was really fun to watch.

On the main board they have a list of coaches that everyone agrees will probably be relieved of their duties and Maurice is on the list. I had to correct the guys and tell them Paul now lives in the land of no accountability so not only will he not be fired but he will be awarded with a new contract. I feel like even with our injuries this season was a lost opportunity. Individuals improved and regressed but our team treaded water. I don't think we started looking better as the year went along I think we were skilled, loose, sloppy, and undisplined all season with pockets of structured play. We have drafted and retained the raw skill now to score more but as a team we are not committed enough to keeping the puck out of the net. Mostly our coach has not been able to sell his vision. He has not fixed the penalty kill, he has not sold them on staying out of the box.
