Even when someone of Julien's calibre was available, even despite the apparent lack of direction we have right now
100% agree there is no chance we are looking yet.

I don't think there was a chance in hell CJ was coming to Winnipeg and nor do I think we were looking at him either.

It just seems that some players don't respect the officials, yes they get some calls wrong but this kinda stuff needs to be dealt with severely.

It's a linesman, not even a ref.

Agree. That doesn't mean we shouldn't have though.

What's happening with Galchenyuk? No suspension for cracking Miller with a two-hander to the head? If not, what a joke.

Didn't Stafford get a game for his errant stick last year?

Different rules for different teams I guess..

Watching the Leafs and they are getting steamrolled by Columbus.

Some observations from tonight and other nights:
They are terrible defensively, free pizzas, missed assignments and numerous odd man rushes against and 5 bell chances.

Where they are better is that they have far more structure in their attack.

Special teams are much more structures and polished as well.

Leafs on the second of a back-to-back. They haven't had a heavy schedule until now, but they do for the rest of the season. A key injury or two, especially on D could sink them pretty quickly.

Definitely but they have had defensive issues all year. I do like how they attack though, I wish Moe would employ something similarly. I also think they could easily hit a wall and tumble.

Absolute joke if true. If I was Nyquist I'd raise hell about him getting nothing to my 6. Complete and utter horse ****.

Marner left the game tonight after he crashed into the side boards, tried to come back later but left for good. Leafs really had a light schedule in the first half lots of practice time and learning for all there rookie's had to help but now they will play pretty well every second night.

Not good to hear, hope he's okay. It's a shame when these young guys get injured.

Marner went out tonight with an apparent upper body injury as well, so we'll see how long that keep them out for, if at all.

Perhaps time to remind players they are not immune from the laws in the various jurisdictions against assault with a weapon just because they are in a hockey game, and start laying criminal charges. Vermette especially. Hitting an official with your stick is so far outside of any legitimate hockey play it screams out for a court date.

Vermette is a pretty poor example if you're trying to get players to go to court for things that happen on the ice.

It's not like he viciously slashed him or anything. Clearly still unacceptable and definitely worthy of suspension, but criminal charges? That's just too funny.

That's epic! Even for TSN. I guess Marner's injury is about the biggest hockey story since Henderson's goal in '72!

"With Marner hurting, JVR must step up."

"With Marner out, teammates will have to elevate their game."

Nah, too much for one article. Make it two.

What about the effect the surging Bozak and JVR will have on Matthews?

TSN reporters need to step up their game.
