I made the mistake of posting the video in the middle of a heated debate and it was quickly hidden in the back pages of the last thread. Thanks for posting it again, glad you guys like it.

The Euro is terrible right now so I capitalized on it with a subscription to Liiga games.

That's a pretty good way of looking at them. Matches the style pretty well.

top 50 forward prospects. Connor, Roslovic and Harkins (at *surprise* #50) makes the cut.

That's a bad list. Roslovic should be ahead of a lot of players ranked higher... a few examples...

Milano
Ho-Sang
Mascherin
Howden
Jones
McCleod
Jones
Dal Colle
Shinkaruk

Very odd rankings. From a new site too. Not a good way to start off.

Hockey Prophets. Right. God bless the Internet. I can remember a time before blogs when you had to wander into a bus shack at 2 am to get commentary of this quality.

Yeah yeah, I know. Old person yelling at kids on his lawn.

Kids got to play in NA next year. He may not be ready for the NHL yet (though who knows?) but he should at least play for the Moose.

My favourite dark horse prospect.

He's showing a lot for a 7th round pick. I really liked him at development camps. Very good skater and lots of puck skills and poise.

He'll need to find a way to compensate for his smaller size in the NHL, but he certainly has a nice skill-set.

Only under-21 D in the Liiga in the top-15 D in points/game.

IIRC, PCS had him around a 3rd or 4th round talent. Was a huge steal... But this is going off of memory, I could totally be off hahah.

I do remember he was considered a potential early second early in the season and then "fell due to disappointment".

EDIT: Found it:

Didn't see this posted here, but a Chevy interview about prospects http://www.tsn.ca/radio/vancouver-10...y-3rd-1.665640 . Chevy's segment starts around the 36 minute mark. He walks about Jack Glover, C.J Franklin, Erik Foley, Sami Niku and I think Harkins.

Luke Green appears to have hit a wall. Has something like 1 point in the last 8 games.

German Rubtsov (who was drafted with the Jets owned #22 pick last draft and who I was personally hoping would drop to us once there was a run on d-men in the teens of the draft) is tearing up the QMJHL since coming over from Russia. 1.64 PPG

Isn't playing men's pro at 18 essentially enough as far as cohorts and comparisons go to bump a guy to 4th roundish value?

That may be outdated info but I seem to recall reading that just being in those leagues for your 17-18 yearold season was a pretty good indicator.

Would be nice to see something like that exploited with all seventh round picks

If true, that makes for a very convenient shorthand

I could be totally wrong but I was under the impression that it sort of gave you a baseline minimum of over 10% or something equivalent to Good Value of a 3rd/4th round pick.

Again I could have that totally mixed up in my brain

I think you are thinking of an old Canucks army post. It was over X points in the SHL or X+Y points in the Alsvenskan at 17.

Ahhh that's probably it. Dang. Still, seems like something simple worth looking at for those late round flyers.

What's going on with Connor down there? Expected a big year from him.

Jaden Schwartz is a good comparable for him, virtually identical numbers in the USHL, dominated in college just like Connor, unlike Connor turned pro after this draft +2 year instead of draft +1. Struggled in the NHL as a rookie, got sent down, similar production to Connor in the AHL. The Jets should have patience with him, possibly even let him play another year in the AHL
