Jeff Carter for the Hart

The race for the Hart just seems to be between Crosby and McDavid.

Seems pretty unreasonable to not include Jeff Carter in the conversation.

Our writer took a look at why he should be included.

Do you think Carter should be in the conversation?

Others have come and gone as contenders but Crosby and McDavid have stayed there all season. I think it has to go to one of them.

Seems silly to leave him out of the conversation altogether when he's got a higher percentage of his team's goals than any other player. over 20% last I checked. That's pretty significant.

Honestly, Carter should be in the top 5 for Hart voting at this point in my opinion. If we're talking about the player most valuable to their team, it might genuinely be him. Of course it'd be hard to beat out Crosby and McDavid, maybe on their point totals alone, but the Kings score so rarely compared to their teams that Carter carries most of the weight. No way are the Kings even sniffing a playoff spot without him, especially with Kopitar having a down year and injuries to Gaborik, Toffoli etc. for good chunks of the year.

He should definitely be a candidate alongside Crosby and McDavid. Leads the league in game winning goals, second overall in goal scoring, and the reason why the Kings remain in playoff contention.

It's also funny to read more uninformed commentary from posters who are unaware of what he's doing.

Not a chance

The Hart generally goes to the best player in the league not the actual most valuable, either way, he isn't either

Not sure about Carter but I have no clue why everyone is including Crosby. He shouldn't even be considered for the Hart. Penguins could easily survive a Crosby injury with how deep they are.

I have him in the mix, he is basically the only guy on LA who scores. He is extremely valuable to the LA Kings.

Maybe, since we don't know what will the rest of the season bring, but I would figure that McDavid, Crosby, Dubnyk are the front-runners, or not?

Burns will be a contender, what he's doing is incredible.

Jeff Carter won't be top 5

Jesus you sound bitter. Carter is having a Hart-like season, the Kings are complete **** without him this year.

I'd have him as a close second behind McDavid right now for the Hart in terms of most valuable to their team. Other players in contention are on much stronger teams.

You stole half the content I provided just two-three days ago in my Carter is under rated thread. Our lawyers can figure it out.

But as a true hockey fan, it'd be pretty tough not to give it to Mcdavid right now. Edm has been bad for a long time

what he is doing is remarkable on a Kings team thats had trouble scoring

with that being said, crosby/mcdavid/burns the clear top 3 as of now. He is a not so distant 4th tho
