yeah, we have to beat one of these Metro teams at least if we're hoping for a championship. I don't think it's a dumb playoff structure, it's made divisional games in the regular season so much more competitive. THis game had a playoff edge to it, lots of fun.

Yeah. Issue is, if the Rangers move up from their current spot in the standings they would get a tougher opponent than if they stay in the same place. In 1-8 if they moved up in the standings they would rightfully be rewarded with a weaker opponent.

That's true. Idk seems a bit too early to worry.

Something I read today. John Tortorella has 69 wins as BJ coach and today is Valentines Day

Well we have a 5 and a 6 game winning streak, which still put together doesn't touch the BJs' 16 game winning streak.

And despite that, they aren't way ahead in the standings. I rather have consistency than hot and cold streaks. We have had 1 bad month. That's about it.

It`ll be Interesting to follow Vesey the next couple of games - hopefully he can remain hot.
I would try to do some line changes next game if I was AV.

The Zib line is too quiet recently - maybe switch Kreider with Miller to see if u get a positive response and get Kreider involved since Hayes is hot at the moment on that line.

Luckily we got Wayne Gretzky and not Brent Gretzky. Erik Lindros and not Brett Lindros. Hank Lundqvist and not Joel Lundqvist. Marc Staal and not Jared Staal (there must be many others)...

Yes, I`m positive about that change as well.
I hope AV do something before next game.

*I just hope that Miller is ready for a bigger role on this team - I think Miller should be on our top two lines the way he is playing recently. He and Hayes usually outplay other teams third lines - much like Zucc did some years ago in that line position with Rangers.
Perhaps it`s too early to promote Miller to be part of our top 6 - I enjoy the thoughts though.

Buch, Ziba and Kreider were noshows.
Maybe so about hank, but that was an awesome deke, and all BOB wanted to do was get to the other side of net, because thats what it appeared Veese was going to do.

Getting a goal constitutes HOT? I know what u mean though, he has been playing better. Heard through the years, that as long as you get chances.....eventually you will score. Thats all you can hope for, when snakebitten a bit.

Yeah hope Vesey does though. Nash is deserving of a bunch that is soon coming. Hes been a monster and expecting a tear from him. We need more contributions from other lines, then again that would mean we would be scoring 6 a game.

Yeah, I gave up on being concerned. Just win until you don't. I have no expectations.

Good teams will find ways to win even if they don't have a great game. Yeah they are giving up a lot of shots, but the flukey goals come from effort and pressure in the offensive zone so those goals will come flukey or not.

Hayes, Vesey and Girardi.

How can we not vote for Dan? That goal was HUGE! They had a chance to make it 2-0 starting the 2nd with their good PP. Took the wind out of their sails, so to speak. Poor guy has been getting ripped here. Good defensive game for him and the rest of team as well.

Roenick on NBC was stating that "good teams" need to win a game like that and Columbus didn't. Where as Jones took the opposite approach complementing the Rangers on how experienced they were, with no panick in their game.

I know this won't be popular but, I like Jones and his analysis on the Rangers is fair and usually spot on. I think hes a closet Ranger fan and has a lot of respect for them.

It seems that Kreider and Zucc together don't have chemistry with Zib, but have it with Step at center. And Kreider has it with Zib and Buch. Zucc seems to have it with Miller. And Nash has it with Zib and Kreider, and with Step and Vesey.

And Grabner had shown chemistry with both Miller/Hayes and Lindberg/Fast.

So what I'd like to see is the following:

20-93-89
26-21-61
10-13-36
40-24-19

Probably not a fan per se, but willing to be objective.

I don't see an issue with what Roenick said. He's right. Plus typically NBCSN will have their two panelists talk about the game from one team's perspective, each guy taking one. And there's a contrast that Pierre was talking about all night. CBJ is still a largely inexperienced team. The Rangers, despite the sort of youth movement in the forward group, are not. It shows in their relative level of composure.

I honestly don't think that is a bad way to go. When you have no expectations then you won't be disappointed.
