On the bright side, after playing his system for YEARS, Bergeron, Krejci, Marchand, etc should know how to exploit it, right... right?

Well... I got the news that he was fired, and told Matt here in the office... He says "What do you think will happen to Clode now?"

I said - he'll probably become the coach of the Habs in the off-season. Thought he'd listen to offers from the Habs and from Las Vegas...

Guess he didn't want to wait

But seriously - did anyone NOT see this happening?

Montreal had a good team, but didn't feel like true contenders.
Now who the hell knows.

I think it was done out of respect for Claude and I can't blame them (especially in light of how poorly they handled his firing)

Sweeney didn't want to do it but Cam wants him to suck all the life out of their offense

But he's Clode. We'll see how that team deals with his system.

We needed a change. We got it. Now it's time to roll.
My sentiments exactly . Let's worry about Claude if we meet the Habs in the playoffs. Motivation works both ways . If the teams meet in the post season , obviously Claude will be highly motivated to win but so will many of the Bruins who had lost confidence playing for him and it will make a great story . I hope it happens .

Should they be worried about Claude taking a decent team to ECF for the first time? No.

No problem jumping on the Clode hate train. Guy comments how Bruins fans are the best in hockey and signs to coach their biggest rival. Feels like a ***** slap in the face. **** you Clode!

I'll give him 2 years there before he's fired again...

On a side note, pretty funny that Therrien has been fired twice by the Habs and replaced by Julien both times...

Sorry if this has been answered already but so far I see it being asked a lot. Here's the answer, IMO: Not letting Claude Julien seek another opportunity - even if it's with a divisional rival - would be bad business for the Bruins brand and their standing around the league among employees. Essentially, the bad PR will always cause a team to never use the right to disallow a coach an opportunity with another team after they've fired him.

I honestly don't care. The standing of the Bruins means 1000x as much to me as the standing of the Habs. I still think firing Julien was the right choice and I have yet to see any tangible evidence otherwise so far.

Thanks for everything Claude, but now you're just a Hab.

I texted my buddy the other day about this, had a real feeling this was going to happen. Didn't expect it to happen this soon, but just knew it was going to.

Also, I'm starting to feel a little disgusted with my username all of a sudden. Too much history though, I ain't changin' it!

Next thing you know, ORG will become the official Chinese Packaging company of the Canadiens too.

Why a weird couple of weeks.
