It almost looked unconscious to me. Like he did it on a sort of autopilot and wasn't aware of who the person he was slashing was. Weird play.

I don't call that a slash. I do call it stupid. I think he was trying to get the officials attention to talk to him.

So he didn't like the way the puck was dropped? Head scratching play.

Actually looking at it again, it's probably more of a slash than a tap, still not a really hard slash though. And given the DeAngelo play for 3 games, this is clearly worse, so maybe 5-8 games?

That intent there is way more obvious than what Wideman did. Should get the book thrown at him

Well, Alphonso was facing him just a second after he did it, didn't look like he had much to talk about.

I don't think there was an intent to injure, but who cares he's a Duck, give him 50 games MINIMUM.

Recent precedent says you get 3 games for resisting a linesman.

6 games for deliberately brushing a linesman with your elbow while he's holding you.

(In the AHL) 10 games for deliberately bumping past a ref to rough him up.

20 games for hitting a ref.

I'd say deliberately striking a ref with your stick is closer to the 10 game part of this scale than it is to the 3.

Brain fart, treated the ref like a player he was frustrated at, he kind of realized late and freezed toward the end of the movement.

To be fair to vermette that was pretty bad puck drop and the way the game has been called he likely thought it was a wilds player.

But hell prob get 5+

He's going to get 10 games. NHL throws the book at official abuse.

I've seen a lot of reaches on here but that one may very well be the best I've seen.
