The actual game itself is the most exciting I think, but other sports have more hype especially around playoffs which the NHL really hasn't had since probably Pittsburg and Philly.

Exactly.

If Laine gets his personality coached out of him I will be steaming mad. Same with Pulju

No. Hockey is the only traditional sport I have ever cared about. The rest are just tedious to me. Speed, skill, grit, what is not to like?

Sport is an art, like when you watch ballet, or see a pianist perform, it's about greatness, the only time we see truly great teams is at the Olympics. And now they don't want to go there to because citizens in Florida and Carolina will forget the nhl exists.

Parity has ruined the league.
Yes cause the NBA has been super exciting watching the Warriors and Cavs coast to the finals for a 3rd straight year

NHL > MLB/MLS > Subway at lunch time > NBA/NFL

At least in my opinion. I really couldn't care less about the latter two leagues.

Baseball is boring

Basketball I'll watch the finals when it's inevitably Golden State vs Cavaliers

NFL is sweet, fantasy football is just unmatched by anything.

I still barely know the rules to both the sports. The MLB in particular rarely gets my attention at all, the most fun I had had with baseball was probably in Wii Sports, yet the much hyped finals kept my attention much more than the snoozefest NHL finals. Even when it looked like the Cubs had no chance of coming back. The NFL, a league I mostly follow just to look at the scandals and funny storylines occassionally. Delivered actually quite a exhilarating season with the greatest finals I have ever witnessed in any sport in history (Although 2016 NBA finals and 2010 Gold Medal game come close. And the NBA, as a raptors fan I probably expose myself to the NBA quite a lot. And in the last 8 months...
- a 73-9 team blew a 3-1 lead in the finals
- A generational talent pulled a lebron in a arguably worse fashion.
- Westbrook is AVERAGING A TRIPLE DOUBLE
- Harden is also putting up historic numbers
- SOMEONE GOT 60 POINTS WHILE ONLY HOLDING THE BALL FOR 90 seconds
- Green got a triple double with steals
- Historical Draft upcoming

I can go on and on about how exhilarating this NBA season has been, my point is that the NHL has had very little excitement despite the influx of young talent. Part of it is that hockey, more often than not is just boring to watch. Even being the fan of one of a team full of young exicting talent. I just find the product of hockey exciting maybe about 50% of the time. Is this boredom of hockey just me or has it been commonplace for people on this board?

I don't know, I can't put my finger on it, maybe its just the lack of goals or the lack of storylines? I can't be the only one who feels this way.

EDIT: Well, probably not the best place to ask this question
Baskettball is so boring and the league is rigged I have zero interest in it.

How did it feel as raps fan to know they were the second best team in the east and had a 0 percent chance of winning even the east final?

I'm just saying, has the product of hockey recently been really boring? No fighting, no scoring, no big trades, no big free agent signing, boring personalities. Even people that enjoy hockey can't help but feel bored by this new NHL right?
There are less fights yeah. There a some decent trades, 2 recent 1st overall picks were traded this offseason. Two #1 Dmen were traded this offseason. Other bigger trades like Zibby for Brassard happened. Toronto acquired their #1 goalie.

For the personalities, they don't show a lot of it on the broadcasts but follow your favorite teams or teams you like or players on social medias and you get some decent content. I know that's pretty true of the Blues but the media is kind of laid back so they feel more free.

Yeah less fights is unfortunate but it's safe.

This is an interesting place to post something like this.

I wholeheartedly disagree. When you talk about "most boring" there is however no correct answer, as different people are entitled to different opinions.

My opinion:
-NHL far and away #1, I am a die-hard hockey fan.
-Of the remaining 3, I pay the closest attention to the MLB. Probably because the other 3 sports are in their offseason for the majority of the MLB season. I like baseball, and will put a game on as a background activity.
-The NFL is #3. I like it and am a casual fan, but would rather watch a hockey game on a Sunday than football.
-NBA is a joke. The top teams always win. Tune in this June when the Golden State Warriors win the NBA championship over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Far too predictable.

From most to least entertaining to me:

Good hockey game
Good baseball game
Good football game
Bad hockey game
Good basketball game
Bad football game
Bad basketball game
Bad baseball game

I've really never gotten into basketball.

NBA games more often than not come down to the final 2 minutes. This isn't exciting - it just makes you feel you wasted all the time prior to that.

Baseball is a snoozefest unless you're really into stats or are at the ballpark on a pleasant afternoon getting into the spirit of things, and even then the game is probably secondary.

The NFL is one long commercial that makes you feel like a tool for watching. 3-4 hours for 11 minutes of action, brought to you by Your Lack of Dignity.

NHL games often devolve into blocked-shot competitions punctuated by dump-and-chase and icings, with highly subjective calls littering the play. But obviously we're on a hockey board, so I doubt many are going to agree that it's worse than the other 3.

Basketball is by far the most boring sport. The thing I hate the most about it is how easy it is to score. In fact, it's a bigger deal when a team DOESN'T score on a possession. Basically the winner is the team that makes the least amount of mistakes. Not exactly my idea of excitement. Add that with the fact that the players are complete divas and egomaniacs and you have one dud of a sport. I haven't watched the NBA in over 20 years.

NHL has the best reffing of the big 4. Basketball and football, like hockey are mainly subjective in terms of calls, and do a worse job of it than the NHL. Baseball has 99% objective calls, and still manages to consistently **** up

I remember when there used to be rivalry and hatred between teams. Now every game practically looks the same with robotic boring players

Hockey is more entertaining during the regular season.
Basketball is more entertaining during the playoffs.

It's subjective.
Regardless of whatever cool storylines are going on, I just can't handle the timeout and strategic fouling segment at the end of basketball games. I need that flow.
But I wouldn't say basketball is objectively boring because of it.

In fairness, just like this year in the NHL where the West has been King for some years. In the NBA it has shifted as well. I'd argue there's more parity than ever in that sport. Although that isn't saying much as it'll be the same teams again battling at the finals I'm sure.

I'll be honest, I occasionally throw a Knicks game on. Really just because I like the sound their sneakers make.
