Edit. Yeah, I think I'm right.

But nothing away from the goal itself, Matthews would've probable made the exact pass and scored the exact same goal.

I edited my post. You are right. Watch this clip in slow-mo.

He is right. Regardless, a big time move by a big time player.

Definitely not the same teams that met at the beginning of the year, but Toronto has a weird history with losing meaningless games to Winnipeg so I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah, it's weird how someone would start to argue that. Nevertheless, it doesn't take away from that goal. It was a great display of talent.

It will be funny if Matthews and Laine record 0 points and Marner records like 5 points.

Marner is playing great, but the Calder is Matthews vs. Laine. Both have massive goal totals.

They almost destroyed the Jets in the first game too. They wont lose another lead like that.

Hopefully Laine has a good game to keep the Jets alive there. Like Maurice and Wheeler said in a postgame interview, Laine is the reason these games end up as a W for the Jets without going in to an OT.

But he's been playing with Bozak and JVR for most of the season. If HF Boards has taught me anything, it's that rookies are only ever the product of their line. It's why Laine's stats get handwaved away because he's either playing with Scheifele or Little, but Matthews' gets lauded because he's playing with Hyman and Brown.

Its scary because you never know which group of Jets steps on the ice. The one that just lost five in a row or the ones who have made chicago their *****.

Would love to see it, but you don't know which Leafs team you're getting in any given day, based on the past few weeks.

Jets might be one of the few teams more erratic than us.

I really feel that the game could be some kind of turning point for the Jets if they can finnish it right.

Meh, maybe. I love how the Leafs are doing and have a lot of faith in them, but they have the potential to poop the bed on any given night (like they did vs Buffalo on Saturday). Anecdotally I feel like that happens more often than not vs the Jets over the last 4-5 years but maybe the actual stats say otherwise. It just *feels* that way.

3 point games make it near impossible to climb out of their hole. To realistically make it they need to go something like 17-3-3, and probably no worse than 15-5-3 to even have a 50/50 shot.

Way too late for any kind of "turning point" for the Jets. They'd need something along the lines of an 17-4-2 record over their remaining games to even sniff the playoffs. This season was a pretty big failure on their part.

Well, that's not good. It's not so bad when you look that they're just 4 points shy from WC2, but then again the Kings who are holding that spot have 4 games in hand. The Flyers had quite a push '14 and last year so hope the Jets can do something like that. Probably not.

Some one give me a video of laine creating a play for himself and scoring. All I ever see is power play goals and sweet passes on his goals. I want to see this skill all peg fans talk about where they say he's equal to matthews. Matthews and marner constantly create their own plays and carry their lines. Why isn't there laine compilation of the little things he does like matthews? Oh right. Because he's not even remotely close to matthews or marner.
