I think shayne needs to consider finances here. Financial flexibility is a commodity, and in this scenario, shayne has Burke depleting any available cap room he has AND trading good young players away. In essence, he's giving up a boat load in terms of young players and available cash to get those three players. Taking on their salaries would be more than enough in return. On the other hand, shayne has Gainey throwing in the towel on this season, which we all know he's not doing at this point in time.
I agree that people act way too personally and harshly to crazy proposals. We should rationalize the reasons we feel the post is deficient, and not presume the person who started the thread knew we had already read a dozen wild ideas that morning.
