Started getting into hockey as a kid in the late 90s. While I grew up playing soccer, I never watched it outside of the world cup, so I ended up wanting to find an NHLer who I could watch as a sort of model for plays that could roughly translate to soccer. The sabres teams of those days didn't really have any exciting or creative players outside of Satan, who was more a goalscorer than a passer or facilitator anyway. I got into the avs/wings rivalry thanks to a couple buddies, and tanguay's creativity and vision jumped out to me quickly. Very fun player to watch, and he was a setup wizard whenever I used him in NHL games.
