I have not watched Brass this season enough to make a call but Brass was definitely better as a Ranger the last 2 seasons than Zibs has been for a while.

Yep, would have liked to see 93 and 20 battle like those two did

Kind of a ****** game. Man do those Islanders get up for us like it's for the Cup!

Oh well, start another 6 game winning streak.

My 3 stars......Vesey, Skeji, Holden

Worst 3......Staal, Stepan and Kreids

Man is Staal God awful slow as molasses. One too many concussions.
Stepan isn't that much better. PP open net one timer......missed. Instead of 2-2, becomes 1-3. Jeez, when was his last goal? Get him OFF the doggone PP for the love of hockey.

He's being used in a defensive role and Dion god damn Phaneuf is getting more powerplay time.

He's the fourth best shot suppressing forward in the whole league, something this team desperately needs.

There's no question we miss Brassard. We left a hole to address other needs.

Needs that aren't being met because Zibanejad's big right-hand shot hasn't hit the net all year.

Just like a job. If your boss loves you and you know there is no chance of you getting canned I wouldn't feel the need to bring it everyday either.

Brassard hasn't been that this season, though. I was never a huge Brassard guy as is. Didn't think he was very good at ES. I was happy with the trade when it happened and would still do it again every single time. Kreider went through a rough patch after his injury too, and people were freaking out about it.

Gionta shot down Marc Staal like he was the Luftwaffe in 1945.

I have no idea what McDonagh was doing on the 3rd goal.

Which over an 82 game season, happens to everyone.

Jesus you'd think this team has lost 10 in a row with some of the reactions in here. I know it had been a while, but this team wasn't going to win every game they had remaining on their schedule.

Still very happy with the trade, but Zibanejad has not been good for a while. Just too much of a passenger for a while now.

We're a much better possession team with him.

Our best shot suppressing center is Derek Stepan and that's saying a lot.

pp has been cold for a couple of weeks, and of course everyone is flipping out like our pp is 14%. seems like some people here have the memory of a goldfish.

That is fair. I'm just really concerned with Zibs. Its not his scoring that concerns me. Its that he is a center that can not make or receive a pass smoothly. He has a strange handle on his stick when he skates and the puck bounces off it way too often. It is almost like CK and Zooks are out there alone at times. You can tell by the defensive zone changes AV doesn't trust Zibs either.

He is a good player. The injury OBVIOUSLY hurt him a bit in terms of starting off with a new team. He will be fine.

Oh and allow me to reiterate that Oscar Lindberg is so utterly useless that taking a turd and stuffing it into a skate, and gently sailing the skate across the ice whispering "go skate go" would add more.

We weren't last year. What hole did Brassard leave? What area are we worse off? He was my favorite Ranger but people talk about him like he was Rod Brind'amour.
