Actually the Habs are giving up way less high danger scoring chances than they did with Therrien. Keeping shots from the outside. This helps Price a lot. The PK is much more solid and agressive, which in reality was the issue with Price. Price had the same SV% at 5v5 but had a terrible SV% because of all the high danger chances that were given to the opponent on the PK.

Does anybody here watch 24CH?

Anyways, have you folks noticed that Claude Julien seems to be very close to Kirk Muller, yet they rarely ever show him speaking to JJ Daigneault?

JJD's time with the team is up. They probably sidelined him a bit. What an horrible assistant coach.

The trade deadline episode of 24CH was awesome. When Ott, Martinsen, King, and Davidson all arrived together to Montreal and at the practice facility, they introduced themselves to Claude Julien by first name.

"Hi, I'm Steve."

"Steve who?" (Julien laughs)

I don't know, it was just a little moment but it was just nice to see. You could also tell how the new players all seemed like they really respected Claude. I think Davidson even said "Hi sir."

Agreed. Bring in Roy? CJ, KM, PR. Would be the most expensive coaching staff in the NHL.

Give SJ a call and see if they'll let us take Robinson. Should've taken him from the start.

Roy would be a terrible assistant coach imo. That guy is an egomaniac...

He wants to be a coach, and GM rolled into one...Mike Keenan style...no way would he ever take an Asst's role...

I'm a bit of a Roy fan and always was. But he does have an ego and probably doesn't want to be an assistant. But he has grown as a coach and I love his will to win. Players know they can't be complacent and sometimes that's a good thing if don't in the correct way.

Robinson is another guy that would I would like. I'm curious to see what CJ does with the coaching staff in the off season. I would suspect KM stays but who knows after that.

JJ is like a dead man walking at this point. He's here because Julien didn't want to shakeup the coaching staff too much in season. I fully expect JJ to be gone or "reassigned" in the off season.

This. Hopefully Lacroix is gone too.

If there is a massive overhaul of the Coaching staff in the AHL and NHL, I will give Julien a ton of credit for having the clout to get it done.

Seriously. And I believe it will happen. The only coaches I see coming back in AHL/NHL are Muller and Waite. And maybe Jodoin.

I don't see Jodoin being retained either. Only Muller and Waite. Carey Price probably has more input on Waite's future with the team than anyone else.

Are any good players on the Habs out with injury right now?

Is it none?

When is the last time this team has entered the playoffs as a healthy team?

Hold on now there's still time for something to happen. I'll be quoting you if your post proves to be a jinx.

Having Claude (Head Coach) & Kirk(Associate Coach) both being players coaches, that get to know their team personally, will ease the transition of all the newcomers & our young prospects as they join the team/NHL. His keeping McCarron with the team, allowing him time to make the adjustment to being a Hab, instead of bouncing him back & forth between the AHL/NHL, will only strengthen the stability & confidence throughout the team.( Players & Coaches) Each of the players have gone through this process in their careers, they will appreciate the way he treats Mike like a member of the family, not like an unwanted guest, that he calls to come back when he can use him. The players will respond in kind, taking his advice with respect as he has done with them, huge in building the character of the team, "One for All and All for One" like the Musketeers one huge family!!!...

To say I think he makes the team better, is underestimating his value to the team, this team will be as one, a Championship team. One whose expectations are to be the best together, each performing their roles to the best of their abilities. This is absolutely necessary playing a team sport like hockey, where the speed, reaction, passion & emotions run at a fever pitch, particularly during the long gruelling series. Each in itself a small war, where linemates learn how great each others passion/desire to win for the team, becomes blatantly obvious, when playing through injuries, exhausting long shifts holding their opponents off the scoresheet, until the cavalry arrives to relieve the pressure. Stanley Cup Playoffs & the Habs are synonymous, this years team is the best I've seen since the 1992-1993 Habs, possibly better, that remains to be proven, my thought is they can beat any team on any given night. They need to do this four nights out of seven, against different
opponents four times, it's like having the wrestling world's Battle Royale every other night for 28 nights. Depth for every team is obviously an absolute necessity, to becoming the eventual Champion. Every player that's involved in the NHL playoffs will be battered and bruised, long before the end of game one, possibly the 1st period, but these are the games they all dreamed of being a party too, when they started playing as children.

There's no chance it was menat as a shot at Mt. Maybe at the media/fans which over do everything. But there's no way he meant it as a shot at MT.
