Now people, we must accept that some guys have slow starts or bumps at the start of their career. Look what happened to Galch, McCarron, Patch, Sergachev. Let's not overreact for every prospects.

We're as quick to throw them in the trash can as we are to proclaim them as bonafide superstars.

He has the potential to be a Torey Krug type, can't help but feel enthusiastic about him.

When was the last time we had 2 defenseman prospects that were close to PPG without being in the QMJHL? Hard not to get excited, might make up for the terrible drafting lately.

FWIW, Craig Button has him ranked higher than Juolevi and Theodore but lower than Chabot, McAvoy and Myers... I smiled at Dubois being ranked lower than him.

Have a feeling Craig may be reading too much in to the world juniors alone

I have a feeling Craig knows a bit more than you do? Sergachev is a sick talent and will prove many people wrong in the NHL very soon! I have said many times he is untouchable and SHOULD NOT be traded for Duchene and I'm glad MB is on record saying the same thing. The Sens have also said the same when it comes to trading Chabot.

Can't wait till next year when CJ has him on the roster! He's going to make some mistakes here and there but he's going to also create offense and be an intimidating guy on the back end for the Habs for many seasons!

I always wondered how his research staff make it work. There's no way he has time to accurately sample all those prospects, say all of their last 20 games. I'd like to be a fly on the wall for those meetings where research staff argue with Craig about rankings.

Our D prospects are doing very well this year in junior.

Mete also has 33pts in 37 games and Juulsen is a 28pts in 36 games.

Working with TSN in the Hockey department, Craig has a lot of time on his hands lol. I looked at the list and it's not ridiculous. He seems to have done his homework. It's opinions after all in the end but a solid list if any.

For those that follow NCAA, is his assessment of McEvoy being ahead of Sergachev accurate or is he just going off the fact McEvoy had a better World Juniors?

Looking at his statline it doesn't look like he's progressed much (offensively)..

Craig's list seems to be made in big part from the WJC. No big deal! Its a tough call and not a consensus to pretend he's the best, but Charlie is certainly now in the step of Juolevi, Sergachev and Chychrun. Anyway, he wasnt a possibility for us. Boston hit the homerun with their pick. The homerun on our bracket was hit by ARZ with Keller and this is a general consensus. All this still projections for the moments.

I was so wrong about Keller, i really didnt think he was going to be THAT good in the ncaa, thats nuts

we had no chance at him either way, i wanted nylander bad too, but nothing wrong getting someone like sergachev 9th, 6"3 220 size and skill and skate like the wind combinations dont grow on friggin trees

Button was exposed as an idiot and is left making silly lists for an unknowledgeable fanbase. This list is laughable........

You'd be surprised. Craig Button is actually pretty ****ing stupid.

I'd put more weight on HF rankings than his.

Ya a lot of us wanted Keller and were pissed off when he was picked. I believe he was the player we most wanted to select with out pick in the poll done right before the draft.

Having said that, I think Sergachev is a fantastic pick as well. I think he's just a little more raw, but the potential is off the charts.

I'll take a big top pairing defenceman over a small top line winger.

The Habs needs both but one might play 25 crucial minutes a game in the future.

I wanted both Keller and McAvoy ahead of Sergachev. Still do

While McAvoy is great, the Habs needed a LD much more.
