Rodrigues and Bailey were both sent down prior to and recalled following the trade deadline, so they will be eligible to be sent back down this season. Carrier and Falk will not be eligible to return to Rochester this season. Ullmark was also sent down (and remains with Rochester).

It's one thing if Pegula and team are asking for general arena upgrades that address upgrades for all events there, it's another if they expect the city to pay for Amerks/hockey related things specifically for their team. And if it is the latter, I hope the city doesn't let them get their hands on a penny of public money that is already going to other upgrades. Of course with how vague the "not up to standards" comments are, we may never know what their actual problem is.

Right. If it refers to safety features, washroom facilities, elevators/escalators, cleanliness. wear and tear--owner of facility pays. If hockey related only then discussions ensue as to whether landlord is living up to contract or lessee is trying to stiff landlord.

I think a lot of this goes back several years to the Sabres being turned down in their bid to operate the arena. My guess is that is they were operating the arena, they would be more willing to sink some dollars into it. As it stands now, there is absolutely no financial incentive for the Sabres to invest their own dollars in a building in which they have no stake.

Do the Sabres even have a lease in place to play at Blue Cross Arena? Or are they just going year to year on the previous/expired lease.

What nearby cities could they be considering? Erie Americans? Albany Americans perhaps?

Leaving Rochester would be criminal.

I agree. Saying that as a board member who remembers the Buffalo Bisons playing the Rochester Americans. I think that the bottom line is that the Sabres want a stake in the operations of BCA.

Hamilton would probably work as well, but obviously keeping the team in Rochester should be priority number 1. There's a long history there, moving the team would be absolutely horrible.

So is Lambert in over his head? I feel like they shouldn't be this bad.

I'm pretty sure the Sabres were never turned down. They never turned in a bid. It was between SMG and another company out of Philadelphia. I'm all for the Pegulas to have a stake in the arena but they didn't submit a bid.

They may not have made a bid, but there were definitely talks and a proposal made. The mayor decided to re-up with SMG

@AmerksHockey -
#SoundTigers strike first, 3:02 into the contest to grab a 1-0 lead.
Tie game! Mat Bodie with his first goal as an #Amerk and ninth of the campaign with 13:03 to play in the opening frame.
Bridgeport retakes the lead, 2-1 with 6:57 to play in the opening frame.
#Amerks score in between a pair of #SoundTigers tallies, trail 2-1 after the opening frame.

Rochester outshot Bridgeport 44-16.
Can anyone who was there confirm that this is not a typo?

That is from almost 4 years ago, they did not bid on the RFP from last year.

I realize that. I think it set the tone, though, for the relationship between the Sabres and Rochester city government.
