How's the view of the screen from section 117 or any other corner section?

113 is completely fine. 115 is fine. 117 should be fine.

Agreed.

I ended up being able to attend the watch party after all, and the thing that irritated me the most was seeing a whole bunch of empty seats in pockets all over the arena. There was even a 20-30-sized group of empties immediately in front of the penalty box.

You just know that it's likely a bunch of lowlife scalpers who swooped in during the presale and jacked up the prices because they care more about lining their own wallets than about charity. Lousy viewing seats or not, there were too many to just be people looking for a better view of the screen.

those seats are empty every game, oilers dont open those up for sale, probably not a good view of jumbotron or something

Was at the Tim Mcrgaw/Faith Hill concert last night with the girlfriend, not sure if anybody else experienced this but the upper bowl was a complete sauna, the ticket checker lady, or whatever you call them, was trying to fan her self to cool down, you'd think being a hockey rink they could control the temperature a little

I see Foriegner will be in Edmonton and playing at Rexall in October. I thought it was part of the arena deal that Rexall couldn't book any acts into that building.

Upper drink rail seats

What did season seat holders think of their upper drink rail seats? What did you like or not like?

Is the view too high?

How was resale?

I was just wondering if anyone has been to any of these equipment clear outs? My boy has become a huge Oilers fan. We were gonna make the trip up from Bowden. I heard that the line to get in could be ridiculous. Anybody have any tips on going with a 9 month old and a 5 year old? Should we show up later? Any info would be great! Thanks!

I will be making my first trip to the new arena tonight. Does anyone have any recommendations for parking?

Dan Barnes: Next wave of National Lacrosse League expansion won't include Edmonton

Dan Barnes, Edmonton Journal

The National Lacrosse League, which just wrapped up a successful 2017 campaign, will be making more news this off-season by rolling out at least two, likely three, and possibly even four expansion franchises.

Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz said they will all have National Hockey League and/or National Basketball Association ownership ties.

But Edmonton, which lost its NLL franchise to Saskatoon, won’t be one of them.

“They really wanted us to get in (on phase one of expansion) but we had to tell them we’re not ready,” said Oilers Entertainment Group chair Bob Nicholson. “We do want to make it part of our business, but not yet.”

The NLL hasn’t added teams since 2007, and is taking a deliberate approach to expansion, seeking out NHL and NBA ownership groups because of their financial wherewithal, franchise management expertise and building access. The newest franchises will be announced this summer but won’t hit the floor until 2018-19.

“Gone are the days when NLL teams launched in four months,” said the commissioner. “You need 12 to 18 months lead time to do it right.”

A timeline for phase two of expansion hasn’t been set, but it could happen as early as 2020, as the NLL is intent on bumping membership from the current nine franchises to 14 or 16 after this phased-in approach to expansion. Longer-term, Sakiewicz envisions a 30-team league.
