Why didn't the penalty get cancelled after they reviewed the play and realized that the puck crossed the line earlier?

They say too much time went by from the moment the goal was scored and when the penalty got called. They said its to prevent a player doing whatever he wants and not get penalized. Does it make sense?

Thanks, makes sense. Preds got royally screwed, though. It was so obvious that the puck went in.

Bishop and Hanzal trades. Especially that Hanzal one.

Maybe Desharnais can actually return something...

That Hanzal trade is so bad. What an overpayment.

Guessing if that's the market for UFAs, we won't be getting any big names.

Considering Gabriel has four inches and about 30 pounds on Dunn, Dunn did more than very well for himself. Hopefully Gabriel gets suspended for crossing like that.

Especially considering Philly didn't really need him and the fact he was benched for most of the playoffs/time in Chicago. I really didn't understand that one at all. He wasn't that good in Montreal even with MT giving him all kinds of ice time.

Steep price for Hanzal. My prediction is we'll trade Pateryn 1 for 1 for another defensemen and trade for a 4th liner. Mid level pick. Won't be a busy one for MB.

Marchessault 19 goals for Panthers.
Signed as a UFA for 750k.

Bravo Panthers, playing in their 1st line.

Zucker - Koivu - Granlund
Niederreiter - Staal - Coyle
Parise- Hanzal - Pominville
White - Haula - Stewart

We can't compete with that.

Are the Bruins more talented than the Habs? They seem to be much better assembled.

I'd say their forward group is way more talented than the offensively starved small Habs forward group.

Seriously though. Will be interesting to see who CAN compete with that in a 7 game series.

I doubt we have to worry much about it. We'd only meet them in the Stanley Cup final.

Anderson thinks he's playing the Habs and pulling saves out of his *** like he always seems to do against the Habs.

Wow!:
Hanzal, White, 4th to Wild
FOR
1st, 18' 2nd, 19' 4th w/conditions, Downing.

That's a lot for a VERY injury prone Hanzal!
(but if he stays healthy...Minn will be dangerous and was already dangerous without Hanzal).

And, that 4th with conditions...it could end up being a 3rd or 2nd (depending on Minn winning one or two playoff rounds).

I'm still pissed off about E.Staal going to Minn instead of our Habs, but someone here said Eric wasn't going to any Canadian team. I hope this is true...and if it isn't and Bergevin didn't even try to get E.Staal...I'm pissed. E.Staal plays like a $7mil+ playoff leader when it counts (from everything I remember about him in his last playoff games with Carolina...yes not recent but E.Staal is not done, yet, imo). E.Staal...one of the best deals in the NHL...that's how you improve your team. Of course, we're lucky we got Radulov for nothing but money (we saved our prospects/players/picks,etc).

E.Staal:
imagine if Rangers had signed him to that cheap 3 yr deal...Rangers would have been as dangerous as the Capitals (or more)...imo. Good for our Habs that he didn't go to Rangers. And, Minn would not have been as good. But...Rangers decided E.Staal wasn't worth it...or E.Staal didn't want to stay in NY to play with Marc Staal!?

We can't compete with the forward group of pretty much any team in the Atlantic or Metropolitan

Dunn's father is a friend of mine. He must not be very happy right now. They are really trying to work on his anger management problems. Like really hard. Doesn't seem to be working.
