Brad Marchand is the best ice hockey player in the world right now

He was also the best player in the world in the 2011 Stanley Cup run by the Bruins.

he's the best pest for sure, however he ain't even in my top 5. Having a career year doesn't prove you're the best while others have equally the same impact as you, who have done it multiple times, you can even make the argument that his best is someone's average year. sorry, he's miles behind #87 and #71.

Great player but I could easily think of 20 guys I'd rather have than Marchand.

Yet Marchand somehow was the best player on Team Canada in The World Cup.

He gets no recognition whatsoever, without him there is no Bruin Stanley Cup win in 2011.

He is the reason Bergeron is still somewhat of an offensive force, not the other way around.

Id say tim thomas, krejci, and several other bruins were better in 2011.

Yikes.

No just no. We could say Best Pest AINEC. We could say top 5 most exciting player to watch. We could say hes on the best corsi line. But no way is he even close to Mcdavid,Crosby, Ovechkin, Karllson, Seguin, Benn etc etc.

Wow, you are still calling Marchand a pest ? That ended a long time ago.

Thomas won that cup, they likely wouldn't have won a playoff round without him that year.

Everyone would love to have Marchand, he brings a rare combination of pest, grit and skill but he's never been known for his vision or passing skills. he's not the best but he's having a great year.

No.

Crosby or McDavid (Burns in there too) hold that title.

Hyperbole of cosmic proportions. No he is not the best in the world, but most definitely a ton of folks underrate him.

Nope, not even if I wore beer-goggles and really squinted would he be the best. A good stretch does not make someone the best.

Its McDavid still, he drives offense on that Edmonton team. No other player currently (with an ample amount of games) comes close to his involvement in his teams offense with 40%.

Awards:
Crosby and McDavid are clearly still better, and that's just two who are clearly better.

Let me know when Forsberg leads his team to a Stanley Cup win while setting a playoff record for rookie goalscorers.
