Who do we actually scratch to put Parenteau in our lineup???

We didn't give up a lot so I can't really complain and I guess its competition for smith/depth

Not upset at the value, but I am not fond of this pick up.

A solid depth move. There would've been better options, so that's where I'm disappointed. But not mad about the move.

Better not be Fiala.

Still time for another deal to be made though.

I guess since my preferences were a big move including Duchene, maybe a deal with Tampa, a rental without overpaying or staying put I shouldn't be too upset.

Parenteau has produced wherever he's played. A solid depth move. Kudos to Poile.

If we look at it like we traded our 4th for him and our 6th for Fiddler I think we make out ok. Hopefully he can play better than Smith.

Same drake, he can't really be worse than Smith right now and we spent a 6th, I can live with this. Hoping to be surprised in a good way as the season goes on.

I can't imagine he displaces Arvy, Forsberg, Neal or Wilson. He won't play on the 4th line. That means either Fiala or Smith's spot. I think it would be a poor decision to remove Fiala from the lineup and Smith, for all his lack of production, works his ass off and helps create scoring chances for that line.

Parenteau is currently DTD with a finger injury from blocking a shot on Saturday

He's a RW, so hopefully Craig Smith.

We got a washed up Jan Hlavac for a 7th in 2008 and he was solid for us.

2.0?

Maybe scratched at first. But yeah, Fiala or Smith goes. Depends on Parenteau's performance. A good PP player and a productive top-9 F unlike Fiala or Smith rn. Good depth scoring.

Injury insurance more than anything. Rn, had we gotten a top-9 forward injury it would've been Watson or Aberg to the rescue. Parenteau is offensively a lot better than those. Not great defensively which complements well with Jarny and Fish.

This avoids us having to call up Aberg and play him 5 shifts in an OT PO game - seems like a fine idea to me.

Ummm... You said this like 2 minutes before the trade about PAP:

The only rental I'm remotely interested in is Vrbata.
Interesting shift over a 2 minute period, PAP must have really worked on his game in the interim... (Just messing with you, but it shows the fickle nature of reactionary posting)

Haha, you got me. But my point stands, he is soft and we didn't necessirily have a need for him - he might be scratched on a lot of nights. But for a 6th it's a good depth move.

Perhaps, my reaction was because I wanted Vrbata instead of PAP - or some other forward.

.61 PPG player in the NHL, so about 50p per season. Not a bad production.
