Yes. I'll wait for 5 more years of bottom 6 cap spending before calling the Jets cheap. Then it will be official. You know the 75 cent dollar will kill them.

They hedge against the dollar fluctuations. Chipman says its not bad at all.

By the time the ELC bonuses are counted up they will likely end up less than $4M from the ceiling plus burrying Strait in the minors pus half a year for Pav

Are there 5-10 year hedges? I was under the impression you can only hedge for a few years.

Has it been confirmed that the Jets didn't retain?

So who's winning the Buf / Wpg trade now?

Stafford's second contract and thus this trade have no bearing on that trade

Chevy opens up a roster spot and Drew gets a chance to play for a new contract. Hope he somehow propels Boston into the playoffs at the leafs expense.

Good for Drew, key piece in our playoff run. 20G last year. Seemed like he liked Winnipeg.

Good for Dano and Copp

Does it turn into a 4th if the Bruins make the playoffs?

For Bruin Fans:

Defensively terrible.
Can produce offensively, but even that is slipping from him.

FYI to those that doesn't know what these things mean:
BPM: Impact on boxscore stats. Offensive (OBPM) side impacts player WAR but defensive side (DBPM) doesn't seem to matter.
XPM: Impact on expected goal differentials (Corsi but adjusted for shot quality factors and usage factors at play-by-play level). OXPM accounts for just over 50% of OWAR and DXPM 100% of DWAR.
PPBPM: BPM but on the power play.

Not shown: WAR: wins over replacement (estimated overall on-ice impact). You can get an idea by combining OBPM, XPM, and PPBPM though.
Not shown: PKXPM because Stafford is basically 0 across the board.

Unplugs the roster at least. Good luck, seemed liked a decent fellow, won't miss watching him play.

Jets looked like they had won big when the trade happened, it's about even now to slightly in the Sabres favour, at least Armia's playing!

With Copp and Dano back Friday it was highly doubtful Stafford would get any more ice time here this season.

Someone mentioned that on the trade board thread. Nothing reliable to confirm this as of yet.

Out of the 210 players drafted in the 6th round over the last 7 years, the best player to come out of that round so far was Mark Stone.

Other than him, it's been pretty slim pickings in the 6th round.

Getting something for Stafford is better than nothing. Just gotta hope we find a diamond in the rough.

I also saw that it might be a 2018 pick but nothing from anyone reliable on twitter yet

Stone, Manson, Lee, Carrick, Hutton. It's slim but it's something rather than nothing.

Or you can blame it on the poor coaching skills of Maurice And company.

I'm just glad he's gone and the Jets won't be wasting a roster spot or salary dollars on him from here on.

Buff, Enstrom, Postma, Redmond, Chiarot, Poolman (5th) all came from this zip code......odds aren't great but never turn away from a draft pick.
