Yes and no.

Any statistics tracked in a public venue is not owned... so now that it's on here, it is no longer secret.

Now, if I were to give up more advanced models, that would have to stay secret.

Thanks! Seems like he could push Tanev for the 13th forward. He's huge, but skates fast. He can fight, but more than a goon like Thorluso.

Nice little video with some accolades from Mike Ricci:

Those are AHL numbers, so I'm not sure on that 13th forward bit.

Could be a good AHL depth forward though. That scoring isn't pretty though.

Not raw Corsi, no.

There is some stuff you can do with more fancy stuff like XPM (or CPM if you don't include shot quality for expected goals).

DeSalvo signs with Hartford http://www.hartfordwolfpack.com/news...rd-dan-desalvo

Why did we not re-sign him? I felt like he really helped with the development of our younger players, they didn't play him too often with Roslovic till towards the end and even less so with Connor but they had great chemistry on the PP and one of the few forwards on the Moose that could keep up with Connor/Roslovic. This is a big loss for the Moose even more so for the Moose fans who hoped to see competitive hockey. We need more vets like DeSalvo not less. Imo each forward line ideally has one DeSalvo type vet who is not gonna take over games but provide complimentary support to the younger players. I am baffled by the Moose where they let a good AHL player like him walk yet resign guys like Beauvillier and Kramer. Let's hope Sgarbossa doesn't get claimed on the waiver wire.

Man, what are you talking about? Kramer is obviously the better vet than DeSalvo. Chemistry and being mean to opponents means so much more in the AHL than scoring nearly a point per game.

I don't even mind having a tough guy in the AHL, I streamed a lot of AHL games last season and there are guys in that league just taking runs so I don't think that having a tough guy is the worst idea but the Moose have- Kramer, Cormier, Beauvillier and Lemieux all in that role. How many tough guys do they need? Cormier and Lemieux should be more than enough.

I hope the Jets offer this guy an AHL contract http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=103147

Winnipeg, MB – The Manitoba Moose Hockey Club announced today that Marty Johnston will join the club as an assistant coach under head coach Pascal Vincent. He joins assistant coach Eric Dubois, developmental goaltending coach Rick St. Croix and video coach Richard Bue on the Moose coaching staff.

Johnston, 38, was head coach of Carleton University’s men’s hockey program for the past seven seasons. Over that time, Johnston coached the Ravens to a 129-49-12 record and led the program to two berths in the U Sports University Cup tournament. Following the 2014-15 season, Johnston was recognized as the Ontario University Athletics East Division Coach of the Year. The Ottawa, Ont. native has been with Carleton throughout his coaching career, starting as an assistant coach in 2007 following his playing career.

Lemieux is not a fighter. He doesn't fight often and when he does, it is often in defense after throwing a cheap shot elsewhere.
