Vezina, who has the edge?

Holtby, Dubnyk or Bobrovsky?

I may be biased but I think Holtby has jumped ahead here recently with this 19-0-1 stretch..

Dubnyk
Holtby

Bobs

This'll be a photo finish I am imaging. Holtby is getting stronger and Dunyk is showing weak moments in his armor.

Holtby and Dubnyk are tied in the betting odds. The rest are far away.

"Right now" I see it as a 2 horse race as well. Oddly, the teams have yet to face each other this season. It could be as simple as who wins the H2H match up.

Price may continue to roar back and finish 2nd-4th, but I see Holtby winning it.

Holtby

Dubnyk/Price/Bob

1.89 GAA
93.4 Sv%
34 wins and
8 shut outs

I thought the definition of overrated was a player who gets tons of attention and doesn't back it up.
To me Holtby gets no attention and all he does is back it up.

It's going to be close, lots of good goaltenders in contention.

I'd go Bobrovsky so far, to me he's the biggest reason Columbus is maintaining right now.

Yeah Bo-bo for me. Minnesota and Washington are such good teams defensively.

Bobrovsky, this is not a question. Vezina is a GM's award, not random bloggers'

The Capitals are 3rd in gf/g and 1st in ga/g. They are a two way team. Making saves by the number creates sv%. Making the timely save creates wins. Combining the two together with consistency creates a top goaltender.

In this case there isn't a better jail break goalie than Braden Holtby. Having a top defense and an above average goaltender does not Vezina quality stats make.

It seems like there is a clear top 3 of Holtby, Bobrovsky and Dubnyk. And the only other goalie I can see cracking that trio would be Price if he finishes strong.

You can argue that Holtby has the best overall stats, but I'm sure some will give the nod to Dubnyk or Bob because the narratives of their teams revolve more around them than Holtby on the Caps.

I'm leaning towards Bobrovsky, but can't exactly explain why. All three have had great seasons though.

Like others have said, Holtby, Dubnyk and Bobrovsky are up there at the moment, but there is still one month to go... I wouldn't forget about Price. If he gets his stats back to the level of the former three (still possible at the rate he's going), he would have the advantage of playing on a worse team than the stacked Caps or Wild.

Anderson is #4. Best goalie in the NHL since his return from his leave of absence.

Price has a 7-game hot streak and Holtby is on a one that goes back over 2 months. Before that Price had 4-game streak where he had 90% or less SV% in all of those games.

He needs to be just about perfect and have Holtby and Dubnyk crap the bed to even have a chance to win. I doubt either of those is going to happen so it's between Holtby and Dubnyk for now. Bobrovski clearly the #3 behind those two with nobody close to him really.
