What I want to see as we get ready for the playoffs...

Forsberg-Johansen-Arvidsson
Wilson-Sissons-Smith
Fiala-Jarnkrok-Neal
Salomaki-Fisher-Watson

PK rotation-

9-19
12-51
10-20
92-38

I assume though, that we will see Fiddler on the 4th line and scratch Salomaki/Fiala, with one of the centers double shifting at ES and using Fiddler as a PK, left dot faceoff specialist.

If we put Fiddler or PA in the line-up, we might as well waive the white flag and surrender before we start because we are giving our opposition a gifted win.

I would switch Neal and Arvidsson.

Little Arvy is my favorite player and I am going to hate it if he does not get 30.

But, I am kind of worried about him getting hammered in the playoffs. I love the guy but I'm worried his size will be much more apparent in the playoffs vs. regular season.

Plus, Forsberg didn't exactly light it up last year in the playoffs.

Maybe it's Playoff Wilson as usual but one of these guys needs to bust out big time. Hopefully Forsberg will get on another hot streak.

What are you going to do, scratch Arvidsson? He will face the same guys at some point in every game no matter which line you place him on. He is effective on that line, why change that?

If size is an issue, then we have issues with a bit of our roster. Ellis, Arvidsson, Jarnkrok, Fiala all well under 6'.

Only way Fiddler is seeing the ice, short of injuries to a C, is an away game against ANA, where we need bigger bodies and don't control last change. Fids might skate once this week to give Fish a night off, but his tank is on E.

Salo is NO WAY ready to replace McLeod, even if we don't need someone willing to drop gloves. He was the worst F on the ice last night, and maybe it's just rust, but unless he knocks it off this week we would be better off skating PAP - who has been just this side of useless.

4th is gonna' be Fish centering Watson and McLeod.
1st is gonna' be Joey centering Flip and Arvy.
2nd Hook between Neal and Fiala
3rd Sissons between Smith and Wilson.

Lavi could swap Sissons and Fish if he's worried about footspeed on the 4th - like against EDM - but anything else seems silly, based on play.

Like it or hate it, if we play Anaheim I see no way McLeod isn't in the lineup.

Edmonton or Minnesota I don't know.

Chicago maybe not unless Salo just sucks the last couple games.

I think last night Salomaki's issue wasn't rust, but more of a "Hey I'm back! Let me hit everything to make an impression!"

personally if everyone's healthy i think we see;

forsberg-johansen-arvidsson
fiala-jarnkrok-neal
wilson-fisher-smith
mcleod-sissons-watson

it is 'possible' we see fiddler or salomacki in place of mcleod, but if it's either of them in place of fiala i'm gonna throw my hands up.

I think that's pretty much the lineup. And that's a darn good lineup. Assuming Arvidsson comes up with another goal in the next two games that will be four guys who have hit 30+ goals in the league, three more guys who have hit 20+ goals ... admittedly, most of them didn't hit those numbers THIS season. But it's still good depth.

Personally I'm only worried about Fiala as he's mostly one dimensional in his game. Ellis is playing near elite defense this year, Jarnkrok has been our smartest and best defensive forward, and Arvidsson is very good defensively and smart with great speed as well.

What about trying Wilson-Fisher-Neal to try to rekindle the success from last year's playoffs?

Not sure which number 56 you've been watching. He's been very good at both ends of the ice since his last call up.

When the playoffs come the 4th line usually loses 5 mins a game. Who's your top 3 lines?

Forsberg-Johansen-Arvidson

I like the name JoFA I don't care if it was created by someone you don't like.

Fiala-Hook-Neal

Fiala and Hook are clicking and Neal is Neal. You need ******** in the playoffs and Neal can be the biggest SOB.

Wilson-Fisher-Smith

I like Smith with Wilson. Similar age. Skill sets matched: Playmaker/scorer

After the way they played when Fisher was out, I don't know why you break up Wilson - Sissons - Smith. Fisher can go stabilize the 4th line plus get PK/PP minutes.

Good point. Can you see him as a special teams player with limited 5 on 5?

If he provides stability to the 4th line and it works, his 5 on 5 time may not be limited. If you put Salomaki and Watson with him, they shouldn't get stuck in their own end like McLeod and Fiddler.

Fiala has had a great month. Ice him in the playoffs and let's see what he's got. He is here to stay next fall.

In the regular season when you are playing Tuesday night games that aren't close and teams start taking runs at eachother. Not in the playoffs.

Exactly this. Guys like him are needed much like you need a 7th Dman so your bottom pair doesn't flame out.
