Tocchet served with criminal complaint,NHL Players Gambling

According to ESPN, Rick Tocchet was arrested for financing a nation wide gambling ring. The article mentions a dozen NHL players placed wagers. A black eye for hockey.I hope Jagr has no part in this

Tocchet always seemed very Pete Rose-ish in makeup and attitude, if not ability..

there is to be NO SPECULATION here as to who is involved without an appropriate link.

It is LIBEL.

This site is read by players, their families, agents , etc...

It's not quite Libel, unless there is intent to harm and an actual "He did it" accusation from a respected source but what do I know, I'm just an attorney.

My two main work areas are Vegas and D.C.

Though I couldn't tell you the odds of any games in this town. Once you live here for like two weeks you just never really go into the Casino's anymore to gamble. You may eat there, you might catch a show.

Though with the Sin City movie, people now probably think I got it from that.

Well, let us all hope that no players gambled on their own games. Hockey is doing well right now, and we certainly don't need this ********.

The NHL made front page on ESPN and such when the lockout began as well. Doesn't make it a good thing.

Did I read that correctly?

$1.7 million ring? Hardly seems worth it.

I don't think he was addicted to gambling, I think he was running a gambling ring or enterprise if you will.

I don't think it was necessarily Tocchet himself who was betting money so much as that he is suspected/accused of running bets.

The Rangers top scorer WAS known to bet on a sports and wasn't very good at ithttp://www.usatoday.com/sports/2003-...-betting_x.htm

Internet gambling traps well-known individuals, too. In June, Washington Capitals hockey star Jaromir Jagr admitted he ran up a $500,000 debt betting on sports events five years ago with the Belize-based CaribSports Web site.

If he is involved the New York media will eat him alive

Thanks John...

that's a bit better...an anual $1.7 million ring may not even make the radar...
