He should be loyal to his team and his country. He should also be a responsible part of an employed team. The NHL is a job and although the rules are bent alot, he is still an employee. If he aggrevates the injury (and please that is about 99% given the track record) then he lets his team down. If he does not try to play he lets his nation down. This is a no win.

Do you have a job? Do you feel loyal to your company? If not then you may want to look into another job.

I dont think the NHL really believes that. They have the Olympic break because it was negotiated by the players as part of the CBA.

then again my tickets and cable bill go to paying his 5 million dollar salary, so i have a little bit more interest at that point... i also would have ZERO problem with Forsberg playing in an international event after the Flyers season was over and whatever else... it is the risk to the FLYERS' season that is the crux of the issue. you have ZERO vested interest in what happens AFTER the olympics.

for the record i ripped Lemieux for what he did to Pittsburgh after the last Olympics... we're in the same friggin spot here.

I'm with everyone on letting Forsberg rest his groin. Don't we all wish that there was a gorgeous women massaging our groins to. But hes not gonna pass the chance to go to the Olympics. Only because he is a GOD in Sweden. If he doesnt he might not be welcome in mother Sweden anymore and he doesnt want that to happen.
