Value of Steve Sullivan?

What's the value on him? I feel he can step in and play the RW spot with Nash and Marchant on the second line here in Columbus. He does carry a 3 million price tag, I don't think MacLean would take all of that ( he could if McConnell gives him the green light). Hawks may have to pick up a couple of K or take a contract like Lachance. I'd rather see what he is worth before I start proposing something.

Trading Vyborny would defeat the purpose of getting Sullivan. Keeping the first line of Sanderson-Cassels-Vyborny intact has to happen. Getting Sullivan on the second line would give us an actual top six instead of a top five and a rotating AHL player.

I know you have to give quality to get quality, but I don't think I could part with Vyborny for Sullivan right now.

Sullivan is a UFA at the end of the season. He isn't worth that much, especially since it's almost a given that he leaves Chicago for greener pastures.

He could probably be gotten for a 3rd/4th liner plus a pick anywhere from the 4th round up.

I was thinking of Lachance and a 6th or just a third rounder. I didn't know if I was far off or not.

Sullivan is a UFA at the end of the season.

He's got 2 more yrs before he's UFA. Not sure when his contract's up....might be a RFA after this year though.

He'll be a RFA actually. Still, Sullivan's value isn't too high. If Chicago decides to clean house, he could probably be had for a fairly young defenseman, maybe Aaron Johnson and a pick?

Rather give them OK Tollefsen instead of AJ (if we're going that route), I got a good feeling about AJ being a pretty good defenseman in a couple of years.

OK and a 4th?

Well, I'm not a Hawks fan so I can't say what they'd want, but closer to the trade deadline, if they are still far out of a playoff spot, I could see a deal like that possibly going down.

Ok so you guys have not been watching Hawks games this year. He is carrying the team on his back right now. The other night in SJ he was amazing. Played nearly the whole dam game. He is the heart and soul of this team right now. If anyone is on his way out the door now Smith is gone it's Zhamnov. Once he's healthy I figure he's gone. you can have that lazy @$$ for a bag of pucks.
