Trade proposal

What would it take from Vancouver to get Willie Mitchell:

How about either Steve McCarthy/Kirill Koltsov and a 3rd (2006) (Anaheim pick). That 3rd could become a second if Canucks resign Mitchell by draft time.

Mitchell should only leave if given a ridiculously overpayment which your proposal isnt. Mitchell along with Walz, Rolston, and Gaborik are the faces of this team and they should all be kept together for as long as possible or until someone gives us the farm for them

I would give you Mitchell and Roloson for Bertuzzi, even though I hate his guts.

is mitchell not a UFA after this season? if so will he re-sign with the Wild? If the Wild stumble would they consider getting something for him if they think they wont make the playoffs? Mitchell is a great dman who is underated and would be great on Canucks (or any team for that matter)... he is from BC so maybe it would be a good fit...

but Minny only would consider if he is a UFA and wants to move on after this season...

I'm not a huge Koltsov fan, but he's a solid offensive d-man prospect. Between that and a 2nd/3rd pick, that' not too bad for an impending UFA. If I were Risebrough, I'd start working re-negotiations with most of our soon to be UFAs. Those that are far off in talks should be traded. If Mitchell is one of those, this deal doesn't sound too far off.

Please tell me that you're joking. I haven't been around the board for a while, but we don't have anybody on this team not named Gaborik that would get us Bertuzzi. Pair Mitchell, Fernandez and a #1 pick and it still doesn't get us close to that guy.

you're giving bertuzzi too much credit.

He had a couple big years....he's getting older now.. he's not exactly a superstar player..he had one superstar year.

Sedin brothers have been their best players this year.

Bertuzzi might be on his way out after this year in couver anyways..

Mitchell is merely a UFA rental. You and DR are kidding yourselves if you think his return is anything more than prospects/picks/projects.

I don't know why you would't want to keep him? You have some good D, but he would definitely be in your top 4.

Then rent him for next season if he's still unsigned in July.
