Garon sucks. Slow hands and feet. They're figuring him out.

Garon has always been an inconsistent goalie, moreso than Theodore while both were in Montreal. This is hardly a surprise.

I'm sure Garon's play will pick up. He may not be the superstar some would think he is with the attention he gets from this board, but he can be a very solid goalie.

I find it funny that the player currently playing the best hockey from that deal is usually forgotten about when talking about it...

Huet is flavor of the month too.

Theodore is our #1 and he'll show us all again why pretty soon, don't worry.

I will miss Huet's play around his net and control of the puck...

The ones who say Garon "Got Theodore Syndrome" obviously don't watch any LA Kings matches.I think the author of this thread should go and read the posts of LA fans first and then make threads like this.

You have watched Matt all season, really? Wow,than you must have really bad vision, because I see things differently as well as Kings fans http://www.letsgokings.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=21270
Stop using the stats just to prove to your point. It's evident you have not seen much of Garon.

Don't count on it. Just because you keep saying it, doesn't make it true.

This is only Huet's second FULL season in the NHL, so why are you so quick to label him the "Flavor of the month"? He's only 30, which is typically when goalies enter their prime. He has been extremely good this year and has very nice career stats up to this point (2.43 GAA .913 SV% 6 SO in 53 career starts).

I don't see any reason why Huet can't become our #1 goalie. IMO at the moment he has outplayed Theodore and deserves the starts he is getting.

Hopefully Garon gets the start tonight against Columbus as i'll be able to watch that game. I followed the first half of his season quite closely through game reports, highlights, etc and he has been on a bit of a rollercoaster. At the start of the year, Kings fans expected him to be their new #1 goalie but he struggled the first month (he seemed to get the tougher match-ups than Labs, might have been why), then got better and went on a streak (mainly through december i think) and now he is struggling a bit. If he finds consistancy then he should hold down the #1 job (which i believe he is doing now - but he could be more convincing). As has been said, at times he has played bad games and let in aweful goals, at times, he has single handedly saved his team and won them 2 points (well, short of scoring the odd goal here and there). But something that i didn't notice get a mention yet in this thread is how bad some of the defensive play of the Kings has been this year. Not suprising a goalie lets a few in, probably too busy shouting at the guys in front of him to make a save - ive seen soft passes across the rink on the Kings blue line and some pretty poor marking down low.

As for the game last night, i didn't see it but going by the stats, he only let goals in when his team was killing penalties. Now i know you need you goalie to be your best penalty killer, but that doesn't mean the team has to repeatedly test him on it throughout the night (i know the goals may still be his fault but all the same, you take that many penalties and you are asking for trouble).

I think he'll get his game in order in time, im not sure it'll be consistantly at the same level he has peaked at this year but he will be a solid #1 for the Kings, they just gotta remember not to leave him on his own and let him play through the slumps (which virtually any goalie will have).

I have seen most of those last six games with NHL center ice and yes his play has been poor. He will still be an above averag goalie but I do not think he will ever be the dominant star some people think. He is very up and down with some amazing streaks and some very bad ones. I took a chance on him in my pool and overall he is doing allright but then again I also got Brodeur and Gerber in nets so it evens things out

The opinions of a few people on a message board doesn't prove squat. It's just opinion. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with their (or your) opinions, but please don't use a few posters on a message board as 'proof'.

Garon is a flake and not a guy capable of taking a team too far. I said so at the time of the trade to LA.

I don't understand why some people insist on harping on this dude.

At least it's much better proof than poor stats.Don't you think so?

Garon is a good #1B goalie and a great #2. It did not change and it won't change. But I still would like if he would still be with us. Huet at this point is as good as him, if not better, though.
