Nah, I would prefer playing Pittsburgh over many of these teams. Here's my order:

Toronto
NYR
Pittsburgh
Montreal
Ottawa
Tampa
Boston
Caps

Prediction:116 wins the Presidents. 10-3 the rest of the way will do it.

So if we win this afternoon, are we in first, at least until about 9:30?

Watching the standings it feels like the team can not afford to lose any game. Between the Caps and Pens the losses seem so few and far between there is so little margin of error.

I do realize this is an over-reaction. All of these teams will be kicking themselves for losses to Buffalo, New Jersey, Carolina etc.

I'm going to guess that the Prez Cup champion is going to have at least 118 points. There's really no room room for error but at this point, might as well keep the hammer down and go for it.

I understand what you are saying.

Just remember, the CBJ were looking up at the Washington Capitals that were 7 points ahead about 2-3 weeks ago. The Jackets have gone 8-2-1 since their 5 day break. If they do that with their next 11, they will have 113 points with games against Philadelphia and Toronto to go.

Each day as it comes.....one day at a time. They can do this.

I love that the CBJ are in that discussion, but 118 would be heck of a run for any of the teams. Not impossible, but a tough target considering the head-to-heads and tough games remaining:

CBJ face @Pens, Caps (twice), Leafs (twice), and @Hawks.

Pens face Hawks, @Rangers (twice), CBJ, @sens, @leafs

Caps face @TB, Calgary, @wild, CBJ (twice), @Leafs, Rangers, @Boston

Hawks face @Leafs, @TB, @Pens, CBJ, Bruins @Ducks, @LA

To get to 118, each team would have to finish the last 12 or 13 games winning at least at a .850 point percentage. That's a 10-2-0 record for Caps, 10-1-1 for Pens, 11-0-1 for Hawks and 11-2-0 for CBJ.

For last 10 games, Caps are at .450 win percentage, Pens at .650, Hawks at .800 and CBJ at .750.

I'm thinking 116 would be a lock for President's Trophy, maybe 115. 116 would be about .750 win percentage for the Metro teams, or 9-3-0 for Caps, 9-2-1 for Pens or 10-3-0 for CBJ. To get to 116, the Hawks would need a near flawless run of around a 10-1-1.

I'm also thinking 116, or course I'm relying on Sports Club Stats probabilities.

Wings fan in peace: may end up bandwagoning the Blue Jackets. Just wanted to come by and congratulate on the clinching!

While everyone will be looking at the game between the Caps and Jackets Thursday....before that each team hosts a team that HAS to win: Caps host the Flames and the Jackets host the Leafs. I'll be interested to see if either team is looking ahead.

Not that it matters but if the NHL still did the 1-8 format...

1. Washington (Southeast)
2. Columbus (Atlantic)
3. Montreal (Northeast)
4. Pittsburgh
5. New York R
6. Ottawa
7. Boston
8. Toronto

So we'd play Boston.

Should be a good time. Finally all those years of following a joke of a team are paying off.
I'll be at the game in Raleigh....the Canes are playing really well at home, Thursday night should be around 3000 in attendance. Be able to pick up a prime seat for 35-40 dollars. Typically the day before the game is the best time to buy.

I can't get this YT video to work embedded so I'm just going to post the link.

I can't help but wonder if the Washington Capitals feel just like these two guys in this scene from a rather famous movie.

In fact, if this playoffs goes the way that the posters on this form hope, the entire National Hockey League could sound like these two men.

I will submit the phrase as consideration for the CBJ Playoff Theme.
