Not exactly sure what you mean. In my allegory/metaphor Butch and Sundance represent (currently) the Washington Capitals, and hopefully later the CBJ playoff opponent(s), that flaming jerk Lambert, and every other media member that ever uttered the word "unsustainable"

"Those guys" are represented by your Columbus Blue Jackets.

Unless I'm totally missing your meaning, I'm just fine with what happened to Butch and Sundance at the end of the movie as it relates to all CBJ opponents, Lambert, all Totrs haters, and every other media jerk that has dissed this team.......this year or ever!

Seems to me that "Those Guys" came out just fine.

Torts has pounded the "they think your not good enough" drum all season. It's worked great. He now needs to pound the "you don't belong here" drum for the playoffs.

Can't wait for the game against the Capitals on Thursday! Almost feels like a game 1 playoff game.

While I agree Caps game is big, it and the 2nd game against Caps, and remaining game against Pens are only relevant if they take care of business in games like the Wed game against Toronto first.

I think if we win the presidents trophy we will make it to the ECF. If we finish 2/3 in metro I think it's a first round exit. Hoping for a first place finish, it's truly in our hands.

Very interested to see the Caps games and the Pens game. We don't have to win, per se (although I would like to and thats obviously preferred), but I want us to continue to play well vs Pittsburgh and start playing better against Washington. I know we are 2-1 against them this season, but that was early on, lets see how we look against them when everyone is ready.

That Crosby goal tonite may be one of the top 5 I've ever seen.

Update

Caps douse the Flames.
Pens win, Crosby spears O'Reilly in the bag, Guentzel concussed and they jump the Jackets.
Rangers lose to Devils in OT.

Capitals 102
Penguins 101
Blue Jackets 100
Rangers 94

What are tie-breaker rules for seeding? head to head records or most wins?

  1. ROW - Regulation + Overtime Wins
  2. Head-to-Head: However, if the teams played odd number of games, then the first home game of the team that hosted the most games gets dropped. For example, CBJ currently have a record of 2-1-0 versus Caps. The Caps hosted 2 games and the CBJ hosted 1. The first Caps home game versus CBJ, which the CBJ won, doesn't count for tie-breaker. It's dropped. In the other two games, the Caps were 1-0-1 versus CBJ for 3 points. CBJ went 1-1-0 versus Caps for 2 points. So, Caps currently have tie-breaker on CBJ for head-to-head: 3>2.
  3. Goal Differential

The head to head tie breaker rule is hilarious.

Right now the Caps lead in the head to head tie-breaker but if they beat the Jackets in OT tomorrow it will be tied.

Yeah...temporarily until April 2nd game in NWA. Unfortunately, a Caps win in regulation would secure them the head-to-head tiebreaker for the season.

Of course, if CBJ were to lose, a SO loss would be preferred over OT loss due to ROW tiebreaker.

In a perfect world, a CBJ win tonite plus at least a 4 goal+ win tomorrow night* at Caps would give CBJ the lead in all tiebreakers: ROW, Head-to-Head and Goal Differential. I don't see CBJ beating Caps by 4+ goals, but would be a great two days.

* might need less than 4 goals depending on goal differential tonight.

Gotta win tomorrow night or the Prez is probably a done deal for CBJ.

Update...

Jackets wilt against the Leafs. Probably too busy reading their own press clippings. Got to keep the desperation up or what happened last night will happen again tonight, only worse.

Isles keep their hopes alive beating the Rangers.

Capitals 102
Pens 101
Blue Jackets 100
Rangers 94

What's a "trap game"? I'm not sure I understand, or maybe people are using it in different contexts.
