Will be at the game; if you see a 30-ish year old dude in a 2007 Weber jersey, it's likely me. Vamos los Perds!

Wilson is out and it looks like it will be Rinne against Holtby.

For any fans of occasionally gambling, you can get Washington for as low as -150. Not tremendous, but it should be more like -200 or even worse in my opinion. Pretty good value

No he didn't. He said they have one good PP unit and Ovi stays out the entire 2 minutes. But the Preds have 2 units that are about equal.

That was in response to a question of why Subban isn't on the top PP unit.

This was his his response when asked what the Caps do well:

Well, anything can happen in the NHL and stranger things have happened, but yeah, you have to figure the Caps are pretty huge favorites

If you want to go with actual odds, there are 12 games in the league tonight and the Caps are -163 to win. That's good for the third largest favorite of all the games, only ones that are bigger favorites are LA vs Buffalo and SJ vs St. Louis.

Rinne playing in his 500th NHL game tonight. Out of the active goalies, only Price, Luongo, Lehtonen, Fleury, Ward, Miller and Lundqvist have more games played.

Something that caught my eye - Price has 1 more game played than Rinne, but they have the same amount of wins. Really similar career GAA and sv% too.

Price: .092%, 2.41 GAA
Rinne: .0917%, 2.40 GAA

Rinne also has 3 more shutouts than Price, 42 to 39.

I don't know- you hardly ever see a team with the record we have or better at +200 or worse.

Yes, because career numbers are a great way to show how a player in a long career has performed over the past three years And .917 to .920 over a 500 game sample is a pretty big gap. Not to mention Price played in the league immediately and has played in 500 games at 5 years younger than Rinne. And Rinne is very bad now, and thus untradeable.

But this thread is about the Caps game, so all of that talk belongs elsewhere.

Well F me, since this game is on NHL Network Dish Network has blacked it out even though I already pay for Center Ice. And to think I will be getting Mediacom cable Internet installed in my house on Monday...might have to get video service as well.

That looks really bad on Fiala if he was trying to sell that call. I guess you're not gonna get that one when you're him

Ellis and Josi were MIA on that bad turnover by Fiala. Don't like Rinne's play lately, but that two vs one is gonna beat you just about all the time, unless one of those two is Smith. Then it's pretty even.

Calm down Lavy it wasn't a trip.

Glad that they took notes on the Winnipeg game we look really tight defensively.

I can see why the Caps are the best team in the league.
