Hainsey is week to week right now, so I don't know when he'll be back. If I had to guess the lineup for the start of the playoffs for the Penguins, I'd say:

Sheary-Crosby-Guentzel
Hagelin-Malkin-Hornqvist
Rust-Bonino-Kessel
Kunitz-Cullen-Wilson
Rowney-Kuhnhackl

Dumoulin-Letang
Cole-Schultz
Maatta-Streit
Daley

That is, assuming no one else gets hurt between now and then, which definitely won't happen. They'll lose someone for an extended period of time.
Thanks - I forgot about Hainsey and Daley - that's 4 significant d-men to have out at one time.

For the Hawks - Hossa is injured but he's supposed to be day to day so he should be back (knock on wood), but Anisimov is injured and the timetable was said to be 3-4 weeks which puts him back right when the playoffs start ... so we'll see about that one. Anisimov coming back 100% will be vital to the Hawks chances as he is a big contributer to the Panarin/Kane success and Schmaltz who is doing a nice job between Panarin/Kane now can be either moved back to Toews wing or moved to 3C between Hartman and Hossa ... but it all depends on Anisimov coming back in time and at 100%.

The main difference between Chicago and San Jose is offense. Both are very good defensive teams, but San Jose is an average offensive team while Chicago is a very good offensive team. Make of that what you will

Barf. This is the absolute last matchup I want to see happen. I love the pens but they won last year and I definitely don't want to see these teams win again.

The thought of the Blackhawks winning again makes me sick. I fear they might somehow do it again this year, they are my favorites from the west.

Would love to see the Caps go all the way this year or Columbus make a big splash or something.

Just about everyone outside of Burns is having a statistical atypical year. It's bound to change at some point.

It's certainly possible, but just saying that's been the difference so far. It doesn't mean SJ can't win. The Penguins are a below average team defensively, but they have the best offense in the league and people are definitely not dismissing them

The main difference between the Hawks and Sharks is that somehow, someway, the Hawks figure out ways to win.

It's almost like Toews and Kane have a meeting at the critical stage and decide to put the hammer down. Hasta La Vista ... Baby!

What a breath of fresh air if the final was between Columbus/Washington/New York - Minnesota/Nashville/San Jose. Is there really any non-fan who wishes for both of these teams to meet?

Nope, Pens would be better. Want 3 cups for Pens.

Why is the Pittsburgh franchise named the Penguins?

I know it gets cold and snows in Pittsburgh, but the Penguins?

Carol McGregor, the wife of one of the franchise’s part owners at the time, is reportedly the one responsible for the nickname. Author Bob Grove recalled how she came up with the name in his book, 'Pittsburgh Penguins: The Official History of the First 30 Years'. “I was thinking of something with a P. And I said to Jack, ‘What do they call the Civic Arena?’ And he said, ‘The Big Igloo.’ So I thought ice. . . Pittsburgh. . . Penguins.” More than 700 of the 26,000 contest entries were for Penguins and the name of Emily Roberts of Belle Vernon was drawn as the contest winner, making her the first Penguins' season ticket holder.

Basically, it starts with a P and Penguins live where there is ice.

Hmmm, I do like penguins.

But ... the Hawks will squish the Penguins.

Obviously San Jose was "Basking Sharks". Basking sharks only eat plankton and are of absolutely no threat to penguins.

yes. But not many anymore.

Only one subspecies remains in the eastern U.S. - the Florida panther (Puma concolor coryi). Hunting decimated the population badly and it was one of the first species added to the U.S. Endangered Species List in 1973. Today, there are less than 100 Florida panthers left in the wild.

Kinda hilarious in NHL terms.

Sharks will be out before the 3rd round so that won't be an issue.

I enjoy seeing new match ups in the early rounds, but by the finals I usually like to see quality teams that look like they deserve to be there and put up a good fight. Pittsburgh vs Chicago sounds fun to me.

So you excluded the Atl. because you're a FLA fan? Bias when it only works for you?
