Zednik out for Thursday

According to a Team990 sports update, Richard Zednik did not accompany the team to Buffalo, and no reason was given as to why.Has anyone else heard about this? Let the speculation begin.

Finally some good news. Every trio he has been on has had the life suck out of it by the presence of Zed. I don't know what's wrong with him but it doesn't seem about to stop.

No need for speculating, he's played bad and he was hurting on the bench in the third. Hamilton is only about an hour away from Buffalo, hopefully Kost will be called up

This is a guy who needs to skate as hard as Bulis every shift, and fight to the front of the net, and find his linemates when he has the puck. He hasn't done any of these things most nights. He's among the three or four most disappointing Habs this year.

Does this mean Sundstrom is playing. I wouldn't mind that because Sundstrom should respond well defensivly. Zednik hurts us defensivly.

Well , he seemed to be in pain on the bench at some point in the 3rd yesterday.Injured ? Possible Is going to be traded soon ? Possible also .

In any case , i won't miss him.I wouldn't have said that a few years ago but now it's the sad reality. Z is not the player he once was

He did got injured during the game. I think it's on the right arm/hand. Not sure if thats why he did not make the trip or if it's anything serious.

I don't like to jump on bandwaggon or anything but good god this guy really has to go!! For his own good and the team...

I know that his hand seems to be hurting in yesterday's 3rd period, he skated back to the habs bench, it looks like it was painful, then, the team doctor (or conditionner, I don't know how to call him) ask him if he was alright, he answered "yes" and he finish the game. So maybe he's hurt but I'll go with Habacookie explanation & I'll add:

I think the upcoming break is coming at a good time for Zednik. For an NHL veteran he seems lost out there. I dunno if it is something physical or between his ears, but here's hoping he comes back to form after the break.

Remember: Zednik-less Habs are something like 10-2.

Sundstrom on a fourth line with Bonk and Downey is fine for me. I would try Bégin with Koivu and Ryder.

Why take Higgins off the first line when he's playign great there. I would put Begin with Bulis and Plekanec

Let's hope Zeddy can come back strong after the olympics. He still has more potential to help the team then guys like Bulis, Sunny and others.

I'd take Bulis over Zednik any day of the weak and twice on Sunday.

Bulis skates his butt off, knows how to backcheck and uses two hands on his stick.

He's shown me better hands then Zednik so far this year.

Two Habs players I would trade in a heartbeat

1. Zednik
2. Dandenault

Both hurt the team much more than help it!

Lay off Dandenault just a bit, hes not the one who got deked like a pee-wee three 3 times this year which 2 of them cost us the game...

i hope not, Bonk,Bégin,Pleckanek and Higgins are doing an excellent job on the pk, we dont need any other defensive forwards, lets call Kostytsin back instead...

and by the way, Zednick hurts us everywhere, he cant take care of rebounds, coudnt deek my grandma, cant pass, not a nice shot either, he was just playing with good linemates last year

I'm thinking more along the lines of a break away from Montreal. Maybe during the olympics he will rediscover his game.

Maybe....
