But yeah, they're not the best line in hockey. If Sheary and Guentzel continue to progress and Crosby doesn't decline, maybe they can be that next year.
Top 10 in LW scoring isn't top 10 in overall scoring, especially given how LW has always been a weaker field.

As a hot streak fluke.

Jeez. Such salty people.
Uh oh, someone doesn't agree with me, better call them salty.

I guess a question id have for Pittsburgh fans is their any concerns about that line as 2/3 of it are very young and small? I know they have guys on 3 lines that can catch fire at any moment so thats a nice benefit
They seem to get the puck back from guys a lot bigger than them so not concerned about size. Their speed and passing ability is great too.

It is still impressive, especially when you consider that he was never expected to be this good.

I read that wrong, but the point still stands. Sheary would probably have around the same amount of points as Kessel if Sheary would have played in every game this year, so I really don't know how people can write off Sheary (and Guentzel) so easily. Sheary has been insanely productive all year, this isn't just a hot streak with him. He's a legitimate top-6 talent.

Just because people are playing with Crosby doesn't mean they're hot.

People keep throwing that out there but a number of people have played with Crosby and not performed.

I get it's a smaller sample size, but, going into the playoffs, I'd put my money on the Crosby line.

At least it's opening up some good discussion.

In March last year, people were quick to write-off the HBK line, but their momentum continued all the way through playoffs. It's very possible that this 'Sid & The Kids' line just continues to improve. They've shown the ability to completely dominate games.

As a Pens fan it is just great to see Sid with two productive wingers that compliment him instead of him dragging around a fire hydrant on one wing. Best in the league, I wouldn't say that. Boston and Chicago have better imo.

And Panarin is playing with Kane, is Panarin nothing special and just a product of Kane then?

Sheary seems to be custom built to play with Sid and Guentzel has more skill than anyone Sid has played with regularly (at ES) in eons. It's a great line.

And? You can play well and still play with Crosby.

A number of wingers have played with Crosby throughout his career and sucked.

Yep. It's more the grandiose statements in this forum that bug me. One good month and it's the best. One bad month and they're finished.

Oh yeah I definitely agree with this, that's super annoying on this site. It doesn't even have to be one month, it could be one game (like McDavid becoming the best because he outplayed Crosby in 1 game).

Yeah, the hyperbole gets old. But you can tell when someone hasn't watched the players play and is just spouting nonsense. Today, for example, Sheary & Guentzel did the majority of the work on Sid's goals and made some great plays to set them up. The people who didn't watch and don't know that will still credit it all as a product of playing with Sid.

Graduated as a PPG+ player at every level on his way to the NHL, that's for sure.

Sheary had 10 points in 44 games last season. Not saying he doesnt do a good job but his stats are probably seriously inflated from playing with Crosby.

So far this season his 20 goal have been assisted by Crosby 9 times.

He has assisted on a Crosby goal 10 times.

He has assisted with Crosby 6 times.

These are all before today.
