These 3 are my favorite players on this team - they always seem to show up and it's great seeing them score in addition to shutting down the opponents top line(s) night in / out. Notice their ice time in the 3rd?
Interestingly, impact on wins per toi:
Dano 0.66
Lowry 0.40
Armia 0.37
Copp 0.18

And Dano is the youngest player, so without any additional further information than that, he's the most likely to improve the most.

Time frame?

I gotta think that Copp is closing the gap on the others.

Not if Laine isn't better than he was yesterday. He needs to play quicker against very quick teams like the Wild. Little was also struggling.

Just watched the game.

Stuuuuuuuuuu!
Helllllllleeeeee!

What a backhand goal by Buff. What an idiotic penalty late in the game.
Morrissey "heart"
Strait was not the worst Dman out there but the bar was pretty low.
Little line was very overwhelmed out there.

Pleeeeeeeeaaaaase Vegas please take Stuart in the expansion draft.

Little was the most invisible forward out there. Also yes, Patty is visibly tired. Ehlers tries too hard sometimes. And right from the start of the game, Maurice had little to no trust to that line. They had very short changes, and every time they got a face-off to the opponents end of the ice, there was a change.

E: Actually, now that i think about it, none of our leading players were good tonight. How did we win?

Uh, no. If Dano isn't taken we lose someone else. Does the trade look better if we protect Dano and lose Copp? So Dano serves a purpose by being taken.

That said the trade up and Stanley pick frittered away a lot of the value from that trade.

No way is the Stafford situation comparable to the Ladd one. Stafford had no place on the team before the season and obviously should have been traded before July 1. Ladd was expected to be extended and was rumoured to have turned down a pretty big offer.

Size affects results. So look at the results and size has been taken into account. No need to count it twice.

Actually laughed out loud a little.

Strait was a lot better than I expected. That's not saying much. I wonder if he can do it again?

And Chipman's the one who doesn't understand the concept of a sunk cost?

I don't know what relevance Jets fans--who have learned to be very impatient about goaltending--has to do with anything.

I'm often disappointed by Hellebuyck's performances, but I'm confident is leash is long.

In any case, every goalie has a lousy season, let alone lets in the odd bad goal. One won't change anyone's plans.

Just went back and watched the replays from yesterday's game. Because I don't have the best sight-line into that corner I didn't realize just how good of a play Scheifele made in the corner on Morrissey's game winner. Real strong on the puck. Hell of a nice one timer by Morrissey as well.

I laughed, I cried, I bought the T shirt.

When I watched Stu vs Nashville I remember thinking it was by far his worst game and although he is terrible that was just an off night even by his low standards. His game against the Wild was incredible last night it's like he is getting worse before our eyes. I actually feel sorry for the guy because it's embarrassing. No wonder Trouba wanted nothing to do with this organization last summer.

That was a weird game. I can't believe a team with that D core found a way to win? Hockey has so much luck baked into it. Although it was a total train wreck it was not borning. I enjoy winning even when it doesn't matter and it is so much more fun for me approaching it that way this season vs how I approached it at this time last year.

Morrissey continues to get better and assert himself more.

PMo and Huddy transcript from pre game line up meeting: "Huds Let's Trouba Josh and move him to the right side and pair him with Strait, that should **** him up" (insert gif of bad guys with sinister evil laugh).

I'm not sold on him yet. It would be a mistake to just get a vet back-up next year. We need someone to push and challenge him for the #1 spot.

Really a shame the anti-tank thread was closed. I thought it was only going to get shut down when we were mathematically eliminated. Not only are we not eliminated, our odds have actually improved since the thread was closed, and if Nashville loses tonight our odds of getting in double

Sportsclubstats actually shows us having a .2% chance to win Lord Stanley's cup if we run the table to the end of the season. Can it happen????

Let me put it this way, if we can win with a lineup with Strait, Stuart, Melchiori and Thorburn, AND with Hellebuyck getting pulled after letting in 4 goals in 10 minutes, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE

Helle may not have had a great game but he hardly belongs in a sentence with those other misfits.

Good for you and your optimism but that lineup shouldn't have won that game. I sit in the Jets "attack" zone and the vast majority of the play was at the far end of the ice for periods one and three (although 7 of the 9 goals were at our end so that was nice for a change). We were largely dominated in an entertaining but very odd game. The Jets aren't making the playoffs this year.

LOL, I forgot about the Buff penalty at the end. You can see that he just caught the puck by reflex, and then realized that his hand was closed on it, and just said the hell with it and threw it.

Just a complete brain fart, and luckily we were able to kill it off.
