It was dirty but LA won't respond.

Maybe he gets a game or two by the league.

Cooke junior? As a rookie he's a much better player than Cooke ever was. If only there was some other physical player to compare Tkachuk to that would make an appropriate use of the word "junior".

The ref turned to get out of the way of the play just as it happened. Bad luck but the back ref couldnt have called it because even after replay I couldnt tell just what hit him and where. Probably a suspension if indeed the contact was as speculated.

I'd be really interested if somebody could put together something showing the flames penalties for/against before their late January meeting with the league and after...

Wow. This guy is going to get his ass handed to him one day and it will be Evander Kane vs Matt Cooke level satisfying.

Props to the ref for not calling any penalty when he's 6 feet away and looking right at it. That takes guts.
he wasnt looking at it, he just got out of the way of the play and turned his head.

Every game is a must win until a playoff spot is clinched.

That said, I definitely don't defend that kind of hit. Can't believe the refs missed it. But as a Flames fan, I'll take that kind of luck if it comes our way.

Physical doesn't mean dirty. You can play physical without being dirty. Tkachuk plays dirty, hands down.

Not a good play. Went for the reverse hit and got the elbow out. Should probably get a game.

Well I'm assuming it was Calgary fans making those threads... and now this was made by a Kings fan... what are you confused about?

If the NHL agreed with you, he'd have a lot more suspensions.

It was a dirty play, I don't think he'll get suspended though.

Tkachuk makes similar plays at least twice a game so this isn't very surprising. Refs are becoming lenient on him because otherwise he'd spend half of every game in the penalty box.

Just because department of rat safety doesn't punish him doesn't mean that it's not dirty.

Doen't matter whose fan you are. If you have eyes that is a dirty hit by anyones standards. If a player on my team did that, i would say it was a dirty hit . I have called out players on my team if they did something even close to that. That guy is a little puke and it was a dirty play.

It's his first season. No doubt in my mind they're coming. NHL generally gives players the benefit of the doubt for a certain period.

He sees him coming and sticks his elbow out, if that's not suspendable, what is? There is no reason for his elbow to be there, just like most of his slewfoots. He's getting suspended for this one.

Shame that Burke talks big about rats taking over and he's got the biggest one on his team. What a fraud.

Should have been a penalty but don't think it's a suspension.

Hope Doughty is ok

The ref wasn't looking and turned around too late to see it. Still that was a dirty shot.

Tkachuk is a hell of player but obviously isn't worried about crossing the line.
