LOL
Classic Tkachuk. Hated the puke since he slewfooted Davidson in a preseason game causing a long-term injury (and elbowed Larsson in the face behind the play)

Suspend him early and suspend him often. No place in the league for this

I'd be surprised if anything comes of this. Tkachuk has been doing stuff like this all year and nothing has happened.

Why is it going to change now?

Dirty and intentional. He's turning out to be quite the "gem".

Hope he gets back to his skill game and leaves the scummy plays at home.

It was a dirty hit, Chucky will get a game or two; but all said, on the dirty scale it's still fairly low. Some people are making a mountain out of a mole hill... and that likely means Tkachuk is doing his job.
No people are seeing it for what it was, a very dirty play and an elbow to the head.

Posted in another thread about this,it is too bad the flames lack decent veteran leadership. Would imagine some of them would step in and tell him to change his play and try and cut out some of the cheap shots. Can imagine there's many veteran enforcers taking note around the league though.

Did I say that?

No. I said it sure looks dirty but I want to be 100% before I start blasting my own player.

This league is unpredictable. He should and probably will get suspended but if the Flames or any other team needed the points in a tight race in the playoffs, they likely let it slide.

I can't see how there isn't at least a hearing where he's shown all the dirty **** he's done in less than 70 games and told to tone it down or get the book thrown at him not to mention becoming a target himself.

First offender, should be a game or two. But since the Flames got an extra 9 against Wideman, they still have 7 or 8 games worth of suspension to deal out for free.

It's obvious from the provided video what happened. It's a dirty play. You can admit it.
No, I want to be 100% certain. The ref didn't call it a penalty while looking right at it.

It sure looks dirty. I want to know why it wasn't a penalty and to know that for 100% sure the initial contact was to the head.

Normally I'd say a for sure suspension. But considering the crap that scum of a player has pulled so far this year with not a peep from the league, wouldn't be surprised if absolutely nothing comes from it.

Not saying it is or isn't. Clearly looks bad. Just saying it's not 100% clear either from the above the net cam or the center ice cam.
You dont need ref cam, you can clearly see the ref in the corner not looking at it.

You're intentionally being obtuse for the sake of being it.

Kings have 2 more games against Calgary and could be out of by then playoffs so with nothing to lose they can take the body extra hard if they want to give Tkachuk a hard time.

Aka... I will never call out my own player because the standard of evidence I need will never exist.

He needs to be suspended at this point just so he has a suspension history so they can really give it to him the next time he attempts to injure someone.

I agree. This league doesn't know how to handle their refs or player safety.

I just don't know how they can justify it though. He clearly looks to see who is there and elbows his head. He can't say he didn't see who was there because why else would you be flailing your elbow?

Just a note, as suspensions are handed out, injury is taken into consideration; Doughty didn't miss a shift. Tkachuk might get a game, it was a dirty play and it might end up being a slap on the wrist.

Look at the referee in the video, he is looking ahead down ice when Tkachuk elbows Doughty in the jaw.

By all means if you prefer to stick your head in the sand.

At least this should finally get him on the repeat offenders list so he actually gets a meaningful suspension next time he injures another player.

Better late than never.

I think they would normally let that elbow go but with his back catalogue and the fact it was a star, at some point they are going to say enough is enough.
