Also, some people blame Weber's poor play because he was paired with Emelin. Look at who Karlsson is paired with.

methot has played with karlsson for 4 years though. Emelin and weber just this season for about 50 games.

inspite of that Weber on the ice produces a higher differential of goals for then goals against then EK.

not sayign he is better.. but in spite of all that those stats are directly related.

Still though EK is best dman in hockey hands down

Yet somehow Methot almost always has a better goal Differential (GF60-GA60) than EK^% at even strength.

Yes Karlsson is better defensively this year, his GF60 is actually>Ga60 but he is still a long way from elite.

He is unquestionably the most offensively talented D man out there IMO, problem his he has never cared, bothered or been asked to become elite defensively (that can be taught to someone with the skillset he has). Seems to me he more than PK would have benefited from a coach he taught him to play da right way and be da better person.

Weber and Karlson were great in there own rights this weekend.

Why does it have to turn into a pissing contest all the time.

Awesome, another excuse for Weber.

He's only played with Emelin dor 50 games.

I pray to live long enough to have a #1 who doesn't need to be paired with a PMD, who doesn't need every player and coach in the league to coddle him and his fans' ego, who doesn't need to be merely tolerated at over 10% of the overall salary cap ceiling....

He's only played with Emelin for 50 games! Hahahah

Just a note here: I've heard Karlsson speak to the Montreal media a ton over the weekend and the impression he left me is that he loves this market and would jump on the occasion of playing here. He was verrrrrrry friendly withthe reporters and didn't stop gushing over the market, the city...and Carey Price.

Maybe, but to me, he looked like he was on a PR mission. I've seen him do some interviews many times. But rarely have I seen him schmoozing that much. He even said Merci...I know that he's not fond of the Hens' owner/management. Just wonderin' out loud here...

Weber doesn't have the same skill set than Karlsson, but in the defensive zone... there's no one better in the league.
Karlsson is a more offensively talented MA Bergeron. Last night if I did not know he was a defensemen I'd think he was a right winger. Karlsson was down in the Habs corners all night, there's a reason the Habs had so many odd man rushes. He was a defensive liability and we made him pay for it. Price shut him down and that's the game. A coach like Scotty Bowman would bench him for his pinches. He had more bad pinches in one game than Robinson would have in a season.

I almost fell out of my chair laughing to think someone is comparing Karlsson to Raymond Bourque. Bourque was a true defensemen that could also add offense. You can compare Karlsson to Coffey since he also lacked defensive ability.
