It's the worst the Flames have iced and that's the point. I don't know if you're trying to say that Flames fans shouldn't be posting their worst defense lineup (which is the entire point of the thread) or if you're trying to say that's not the worst lineup they've iced.

Our top 3 D weren't even paired with each other. Two of them paired were with 2 #6's and the other with a borderline AHLer, and together with some shaky goaltending shipped 7 goals to the Oilers.

NIKITA ZADOROV - PATRICK WIERCIOCH
This is the clear winner of worst one

Emelin was out for a bit too I think when he had his kid.

I can't remember who we had in there now playing with Weber, I think it was Beau.

Lol I know this thread is about defense but what the hell is going on here? Nevermind the double Nick Lappin's, I've heard of like 3 of those guys total

When Hakstol got drunk and scratched Ghost.

I separated the good defensemen from the bad ones.
02/02 vs MTL
02/04 vs L.A.
02/06 vs STL

Provorov -- MacDonald
Manning -- Gudas
Schultz -- Streit

Last game against the Panthers...

Dumoulin-Schultz
Pouliot-Cole
Streit-Ruhwedel

They won 4-0. Team defense can take the pressure off of below average defense corps.

Until this thread, I used to think I had a pretty good grip on most of the player names in the NHL.

Not anymore. Who ARE half of these bottom-3 defensemen? Not to mention the dozen-plus bottom-6ers I'm likely missing out on.

Check for the updated Jets lineup for Friday (Mar-24th) game vs the Ducks!

Today the Jets sunk to a new low.
Because of injuries Winnipeg iced a lineup consisting of only 2 NHL caliber defencemen and varying degrees of awful behind that.

Trouba, Enstrom, Myers & Postma are out injured.
That left us with this.

Josh Morrisey - rookie savior, thrown into first pairing assignments all year. Aside from Trouba our best and most consistent D-MAN

Big Buff - good offensive defencemen but having a real weak defensive year. More of a rover than a d-man at times. Has particularly struggled in games where he plays more than 28 minutes (which has been a regular occurrence).

Ben Chiariot - more of a 6/7 PK guy. Big physical, has a cannon of a shot which never hits or gets to the net. Abysmal at puck retrieval and movement in our zone.

Julian Melchiori - mediocre bad AHL level D. Nothing really stands out either way... just not good enough for the NHL

Brian Straight - Called by our friends from NYI "the worst defencemen in the NHL" the last few years. He's played 3rd pairing in the AHL and not done well. Today was his first regular season game as a Jet.

Mark Stuart - a once beloved hard as nails shot blocker. This "company man" has long since seen any resemblance to NHL level skill leave his body. He's so bad he makes the other guys on this list look decent.

Now the first thing someone will say is "you won 5-4"... yes we did but that was a fluke. 4 goals on our first 8 shots will help a team out that way. We also gave up a 4-0 lead and got dominated throughout most of the game.

Has any other team iced a 6 man unit that weak this season?

*** Spoiler - just for fun it looks like Chiarot may now be hurt and the Jets may be digging deeper into a bare cupboard on Tuesday
I had to revisit this thread as the Jets may be icing a team tonight without Buff and Morrisey!!!

So to review players that are out by their depth # (my opinion) on our roster.
1) Trouba
2a) Buff
2b) Morrisey
4) Myers (essentially out all year)
5) Enstrom
6) Paul Postma
7) Chiarot

WTF

That leaves
Melchiori, Straight (of Islanders fame), Stuart (worst Dman in the NHL bar none), Nogier (playing his 3rd NHL game), Kitchon (just called up from the A) and ???

If one of Buff, Morrisey or Trouba is not announced as in at 6:30pm this may become Chris Thorburn or someone (who is not a d-man).
If that is the case I defy any team to have iced a weaker D line up.
This is crazy and laughably bad!!

It was the final game of last season, but the Sens iced:

Claesson - Karlsson
Harpur - Ceci
Kostka - Wideman

...and somehow beat the Bruins 6-1

Claesson is a good #6/7 (this year), Harpur spent time in the ECHL that season, Wideman was a rookie #6/7 and Kostka was a career AHLer by this point

It gets even worse if we look at some of the forwards featured in that game: Robinson, Varone, Paul, Puempel, and Dzingel (who had not yet locked down a roster spot)

There is a good chance Sabres are fielding these 6 defensemen tomorrow: McCabe, Bogosian, Gorges, Nelson, Austin, Falk

Do we win this thread?

I think your first 3 guys are better than anyone in the Jets D lineup tonight... so I don't think so

I'm really scared for the Jets depth if they don't have 10 defensemen better than Josh Gorges in the organization
