I just can't see any of the teams ahead of them falling that much. They are 10 back of the Pacific 4th place, so even if they say went 9-2, Edmonton would just need to go 4-6-1 and they are still ahead of LA.

St. Louis has a really, really easy schedule left and Nashville's is a bit harder, but not super hard. If LA could go something like 9-2 they'd have a chance here, but if Nashville can go 6-4-1 to beat them there (or St. Louis would just need 6-5)

They need to win a lot. Tonight is their backs against the wall. But Edmonton might look at it as this is their game to clinch a playoff spot (unofficially) and play accordingly. LA is going to have trouble.
The Kings lost a must win game in Edmomton in the last week of the 14-15 season. The Oilers are a better team than they were then, and the Kings have barely had a pulse since their bye week 16 games ago.

Their best shot appears to be overtaking Nashville. Their sched is a bit tougher than St.Louis'

But as an Oiler fan I don't want to get too cocky just yet.

The way I see it they have to go 9 and 2 just to have a decent chance. 9 and 2 and hope one of Nashville/STL/Edmonton struggles hard down the stretch.

Well if the Ducks have home ice advantage on the Flames, that would be very bad for the team from Calgary.

I would say they are due to win a game in Anaheim, but I would have said that like 10 games ago. I think its like 26 losses in a row.

Just crazy. Guess they have 1 more chance to break the streak before the playoffs start. Hope they figure it out

Even a 10 game winning streak at this point in the season wouldnt guarantee anything. Lets say they go 10-1 to end the year, just a miracle run. Theyd end up with 95 points. If the Predators go 7-4 (pretty reasonable record) theyd also have 95. The Oilers could actually go 5-6-1 and finish with 96

More or less the Kings have a max of 3 more losses before they are out. And anything is possible. A 10-1 record has been done 3 times this year IIRC (Columbus, Minny, Calgary), maybe there is another 1 or 2 teams.

Yep. LA is need of a very good run and a bit of a meltdown by another team. Plausible, but it's not looking good at all.

Kings fan here. It's over. This team has no heart. There's no urgency or desperation in their game. I don't think they really want to make the playoffs, frankly.

Definitely over.

And while we're at it, with the Leafs incredible win against the Bruins and playing the Blackhawks to overtime, I feel like the east is all but set too.

The East is still too close to call, although Toronto obviously has the advantage. It'll come down to their last 4 game against the top 3 teams in the league plus Tampa who's chasing them.

3 points can disappear quickly. The east will be close till the end.
