Are you watching the game or scoreboard watching?

Do the leafs always get officiating like this? No wonder they're fighting for a playoff spot...

Rub out play..... Stop it you are embarrassing reasonable leafs fans who know it was a dirty unacceptable hit. You wouldn't call it a rub out if it happened to marner

Like when Chicago scores offside and it counts?

Leafs have been getting jobbed all year. The refs have been calling a good game. Not sure what you are seeing..

NHL reffing is an absolute joke. How does Carrick not get a penalty for crosschecking Pastrnak in the head. If that were any Bruin doing that to a Leaf it would be 5 minutes. The boarding on Bergeron clearly shoulda been a 5. Matt Martin loses a skate blade behind the play when Boston has posession in the Leafs zone and the refs blow play dead so he can get off the ice.

So why was the play blown dead when the blade of his skate fell off? I'm legitimately asking as no explanation was given on NESN feed. Leafs fans get one on tSN?

Surprised the refs didn't roll out the red carpet for Martin there

They missed an automatic 5 minute major.
Blew play dead when your player broke a skate behind play in laughable fashion.
Watched insufferable interference by the Babcock team.

Pretty clearly.

Leafs and Bruins fans have both been the recipients of bad calls this year. Can we all agree to keep this thread to today's game only?

Because the officials clearly blew the call, I would like to see the league step in and give Soshnikov the game he deserved. That is a garbage play, not really necessarily a big suspension, but because they didn't give him five and a game he should get it from the DoPS in my opinion.

If they indeed deem that it was a hit worth five and a game then that is a fair call to give him a game.

I realize that your being funny, but what was the actual explanation for blowing the play dead there from the refs?

The way he was moving I could see how it looks like a guy who just got a concussion trying to get up. Better safe than sorry I guess? I'm sure the ref would rather get yelled at by Cassidy for a dumb call than get lambasted in the media on the off chance Martin was actually hurt and he didn't stop play.

It's a stupid call, but I can see how the ref made it in the heat of the moment.

Thanks! So it was likely a call made because they thought he was injured, correct? I thought the team with the injured player had to have possession. Can someone clarify?

That's what I heard from the announcers at the time of the call, they thought Martin might be injured for a second too.

Pretty clearly.
It's actually not an automatic 5 min major.

2 vs. 5 for boarding is entirely up to the discretion of the ref, not whether an injury is present. The automatic part is that if 5 minutes is given and there is an face/head injury, a game misconduct must also be given.

That said, like I mentioned earlier, if Bergeron stays down, it's almost guaranteed to be 5, but would then mean a game.

A win for San Jose tonight would go a long way to securing the Pacific.

Thanks WD. Would have liked one of the four of them to actually skate over to him to see the truth but like you said it was a bad call in hindsight.
