Breaking Forsberg news!!!

According to 610 WIP Forsberg left practice today after 30 mins due to groin tightness. He's not playing tomorrow and will decide by Friday whether he's playing in the Olympics.

I actually hope this is true. The man needs to rest, and to let his damn groin heal. F the Olympics.

The clowns who clear players to play need to be fired.

I have no medical qualifications but the only thing to cure a groin is rest. Not a couple of days but at least a couple of weeks.

Time after time a player reinjures himself coming back too soon.

Well he has to go though five more days atleast. so that rules out anything before the game. However he sais that he expects to play Wednesday and that if nothing goes wrong to play in the Olympics. Well something just went wrong. He better stay out now. If he stays out then we could be completely healthy and improved (trade) after the break!!!!!!!!

I think calling him a clown is pushing it. He needs to rest and let his groin heal. STAY OUT of the olympics. I am not a fan of his per say in terms of his grit and overall attitude, but his talent and pure playmaking ability is unrivaled in the league.

I agree, clown is maybe a bit too much. I am a huge Forsberg fan from his Avalanche days. He is bar far the best player in the world when healthy. Notice I said......when healthy. I am resorting to using the term "clown" because he's a danger to himself. The Flyers training staff have not helped him either. This guy is as competetive as they come. He and the Flyers dearly need him to take the 2 weeks and rest.

On a related note, Pitkanen is out of Team Finland (from a local Finn source www.jatkoaika.com) ... they've already named a replacement. Apparently he's been having groin trouble during the last 2 games and is suffering quite a bit (said by Finland's coach). Well, it has shown in his skating. As much as hope the weeks of rest to come will help & he'll be in shape for the rest of the season.

or maybe it's a brilliant ploy to get him to tweak it in practice and then not go to the olympics... get that nice break in the schedule to rest the thing up.

If players are healthy enough to play for their NHL teams, they should play for their countries.

It part of the international agreement. I dont see why people are whining especially as they wouldnt miss any NHL games because of the Olympics.

He's getting just as much pressure to play as he is not to play.

I think the American Clown Association will be coming down hard on this thread at any time now. You have been warned.

Those employers aren't his employers though. At least not the ones paying him to play. Maybe endorse, but that's extra money. If Swedish hockey paid as much as North American he'd probably still be there.

Anyway, why so much trouble with the word clown? Just a word boys, as in figure of speech.

Why is it I don't come here much and when I do I usually get banned??????

He had to step out of tonights traniningsession after 35 minutes, same as his last try.

Id say his chanses of actually playing in the Olympics, are about 25%....
