Canadian NHL'er Tests Positive for Rogaine

According to TSN, http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=154224&hubname= , a Canadian NHL'er has tested positive for Rogaine. Apparently the player had been named to the Canadian 81-man Olympic eligibility list this past fall.

Anyone have any idea who this balding player is? Wasn't Ryder on this list? Uh-oh

Theres a steroids masking agent in finasteride, nothing crazy there. It isnt far-fetched to think a juiced up olympian would use that as a cover up, receding hairline or not.

Sources suggest the player in question has been using a hair restoration drug for many years and it's not being used as a “masking agent” for steroid use, and that is precisely the issue the arbitrator must rule on.
Balding indeed...

He won't get suspended. The penalty for Rogaine use is two minutes for lookin' so good.

Haha...too funny. That Grecian Formula commercial is a classic, "Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!"

He doesn't need the distraction, but it doesn't sound like it will affect his playing status for the NHL -- and quite possibly not for the Olympics either, if he can get a therapeutic use exception, which appears likely according to PC -- as he's been on a doctor-prescribed hair treatment for years.

Of course, this being Montreal and especially this being Theodore, much ado will be made of it anyway. Already uninformed posters on RDS boards and elsewhere are writing shrill posts about cheating, with no regard whatsoever to actual facts...
