Yeah, I had him 4th after Matthews and the big Finns.

He has the ability to take over games and for me that puts him in a category as a special player. It might not happen right away in the NHL...there's a good chance it's going to take some games for him to get used to the pace. To me, when he's 21-22 he'll be a cross between Ryan O'Reilly and Zach Parise and absolutely he's got captain material written all over him.

Just like ROR (1st season 81gp 26pts) and Parise (1st season 81gp 32pts) it might not happen right away for Jost but I have zero doubts he does get there. I think eventually he's going to make people finally forget about ROR.

Getting him signed and into these last games is fantastic. It gives him the opportunity to not just have 'some general idea' of how much stronger he needs to get to be successful at this level but it gives him 'hands-on experience'.

to Sakic and co. for getting this done.

Mack sent Jost a few texts before he signed, Dater asked Mack about him. I thought that was nice that he got involved closing the deal.

Haha, "go the free agency route, trust me."

I'm glad you're high on him, Bender. You seem to be right more often than not with prospects. Still hoping Bigras proves you wrong though.

Really excited to get to see him ! I wasn't expecting to see him at all (not until next season). Mack sure seems like he's desperate to have some more talent to help him out a little .

"So, Tyson, how do you plan on turning the Avs' season around?"

"Well Mike, I don't know if that's really possible given the season ends in a couple weeks and we're mathematically eliminated."

"Ok, just clarify this for me: Is there any chance that you are going to attend DU next season?"

"I've signed a contract with the Avalanche, Mike, so I don't think it's possible to do that."

"Colorado College?"

Shoulda went with a bit more of a unique number with a 7. Maybe 87 or some other weird one.

Kinda wanted him to go with 91 or something cool like that. Hope he can play tomorrow.

Maybe once Mitchell and Bourque are off the team he'll nab either 7 or 17.

I'd like a unique number too though. Oh well.

Mitchell was holding his place in practice so probably him.

I'll give the org some credit for drumming up some excitement here.

Let's hope the org isn't making him wear the old Martinsen jerseys. Lol

Avs instagram story showed a beautiful release.
Avs snapchat story showed Nate and Barrie laughing with him on the ice accepting him to their posy.

I would imagine JTC would grab 7 and Jost would grab 17.

I've been down on this season since EJ broke his leg, so it's nice to have another bright spot. I think he's going to be a good one.

This season has been worse than awful in so many ways, but it is hard for me to not be excited with the young core we have.

He's given him props and talked about him before. I think he likes the way he plays, and is excited there's some talent being added.

Jost needs to get that #17 next season. I hope people don't spend their money on #27 jerseys.

Good to see him on the ice. Sounds like it's going to be Landeskog-Jost-Duchene.
