Heut is playing well, but when your getting more than 15+ shots per game it gives you a chance to score goals and win. The biggest diffence is that and Markov's return seems to have sparked Kovalev and the team.

It's a combination of things. Ribeiro has been given a second chance, and he's taking advantage of it. Plekanecs is playing great with Bulis only sundstrom and Zednik aren't finishing. Kovalev is finaly performing, the D is looking much more solid with Markov. Huet is far better than Theo has been for us all season. I only wish Kost would get called up and would take Zednik or Perez' spot.

how many time has huet been named star of the game so far ?

thats your answer

he took secoind star tonight again

he is playing darn good hockey .

how many even strength goals have he allowed in his last 5 games?

2 ?

GO HUET GO

team is more confident having someone who will bail them out if they make a mistake or two and he does every game

For some reason, RDS calls their own stars for away games - when they play at home, the stars are the same on the RDS broadcast and at the Phone Booth.

The official ones are still those on the score sheet (i.e. @ NHL.com).

I can't seem to find the 3 stars on NHL.com

Where do you go to find them?

It's listed on the official scoresheet, bottom right corner:

http://www.nhl.com/scores/htmlreport...6/GS020835.HTM

You probably already know but just in case, you find scoresheets (filled in progress as the game plays) by clicking the appropriate "Off. Scoresheet" link on the "scores" page:
http://www.nhl.com/scores/index.html

with this team, all the success starts with the goalie. Th players slowly develop confidence in their goaltender and begin to lose doubts and as as result, their own game starts coming around.

it goes hand in hand.

I really dislike how NHL picks the 3 stars for games. It seems as if it's Points over anything. Ribeiro deserved the 2nd star, if not even give it to Begin the guy who was DIRECTLY responsible for the 2nd goal, not Bonk...

I whole-heartedly agree! The Habs started that horrid six-game road trip without him and went on to win just 2 of 6. They lost the next two before Andrei returned to the line-up... and PRESTO! They've won 3 out of 4 with him back...

I'm still in awe at the patience and skill he showed on that play in overtime to pass the puck to a wide open Kovalev for the winner!

I believe Huet obviously has something to do with that success (back-to-back shutouts speaks for itself) but Markov is the biggest reason.

Well you know the whole team is playing well right now but most importantly our our 3 best players on each position are playing well.

D= Markov
G= Huet
F- Kovalev

Huet is making a difference; Markov is such a valuable player; Plekanec dosen't get all the credit he deserves, he's playing outsading hockey... let's not forget he's a rookie!; Perezhogin creates space for his linemates; Ribeiro is playing great hockey since paired with zhogy and kovy; Komi makes my 2-weeks-ago posts look ridiculous; 3 balanced lines; energy line looks great and plays less than under Julien.. etc. All of this should have been done a whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiile ago...

I think we miss a player like Kostitsyn, even at 5 mins a game.. he sure could help the offense.

I was hoping they would bring him up to take Zednik's spot...

The reason the Habs are playing better? Simple...the return of team MVP Andrei Markov.

No player is more important than Markov. The Habs defence is weak with him in the line-up, without him it is downright awful. While I don't believe in "untouchables" because I think if the price is right anyone can be dealt but he is damn close to untouchable. What a player, what skill and he will still only get better.

The defence will be much improved next year because I believe:
(1) BG gets a #2 d-man, which I believe he will before next season, which will move everyone down 1 notch on the depth chart
(2) Komisarek continues to improve - yes, he makes mistakes still, hey he is still young and adjusting - but I think he will be a very good defenceman. He won't be putting up points but as he adjusts, he will be (is?) a monster body-checker and will be excellent defensively. Just needs time and icetime. Good move partnering him with Markov

Our forecheck was good last night, the 4th line was effective, and all our lines (aside Sundstrum) won most battles along the boards in the offensive and defensive zone.

Excellent effort all around.

They are doing many of the things they where not doing over the last two months. Getting great goaltending, blocking shots, taking shots, good puck movement and playing with intensity. This could have been 8 out of 8 pts if not for stupid penalties one thing that remains that has to be fixed.

This is exactly what this team needed going into the break, but it can all come crashing down unless they win on Saturday. Saturday's game is HUGE. At home on Saturday night against a team we are fighting with for the playoffs. A big win is needed.
