Must win the series. End. Of. Story. 17 years in and 3 playoff appearances. I mean come on already!

At worst, the Jackets need to go to a game 7. The Jackets are still really young, but it would be disappointing if they don't make this a series that comes down to the last game (short of winning it before then).

A little momentum will go a long way right now. It's why I think Bob should have started last night, but I digress.

Gotta win a game in Pittsburgh or it's likely we get swept. If we can win one there, it's on like Donkey Kong (love that game). Win the first one, hit the hell out of them, and watch their collars get tight.

I still think we can win the series despite the losing streak. Momentum is fickle, and if it turns we'll be in good shape.

What's going to happen if they don't? World cease to exist or something?

Must win?! The term "must win" is properly used for something like "must win or you are eliminated".

As I said earlier, who are we to define what is acceptable? The only influence we have is ticket purchase for the most part.

Prediction threads and the such are cool, but these type of threads just seem to sit wrong with me. It implies some type of consequence if the consensus result isn't met.

This is really the first run with this group during our "window". This is a learning experience, I have no expectations. We can easily lose a series to the Pens and it be a good, hard fought series.

I think we just need to relax for now, there should be plenty of time with this group to increase expectations.

Here's what I want to see: NYI and TBL win their last two games and we stroll into Toronto and knock them out of the playoffs. DB traveling Leafs fans! Love to see them cry.

Jackets beat Pittsburgh in 6, Jackets beat Washington in 7, Jackets beat Ottawa in 4, Jackets beat Chicago in 6. Jackets win Stanley Cup. Bobrovsky Conn Smythe.

Heard it here first.

I've been dreaming about this scenario for awhile now (grew up a Habs fan before moving to Columbus, and I've always hated the Leafs) and I don't want to jinx it.

As a Leafs fan living not far from your fine city, I'm hoping to see your boys beat the tar outta the Pens. I really like the mix of heavy and skill you guys play, and your fan base deserves more than just 2/3 home playoff games.

Best of luck, and beat the **** out of the Caps when you're done there, too, please and thanks

If the Jackets beat both of those teams, you're not going to be happy about playing them in the playoffs (presuming your request assumes you'd be advancing as well). Polite request or otherwise.

Win the cup, sweep every team along the way.
But for real, beat Pittsburgh. That would make me so happy

What is the consequence for unacceptability? As in "they have to achieve xxxx or I will xxxx."

They could lose every game and I'm still feeling like the team took giant steps this year. Not really sure what would change.

The only acceptable outcome involves 16 wins.

In all seriousness, they've made some strides this year. I think they can beat Pittsburgh so I'm just looking forward to a good series.

To me the acceptable result is they play like a team that won 50 games, especially the first 49. A good solid effort is what I consider acceptable. If they play like crap and score 4 goals in a 4 game blowout I will not be happy. Play hard. That's all I want. Of course I'd be extremely happy winning as much as they can.

I'm confused... The Wings didn't make the playoffs this year.

Okay....for the 2nd time this season, how about a 16 game winning streak?

Reasonable, as long as we finish it with another win after the Hawks take game four.
