McCann's posted on the blog that the two sides couldn't reach agreement in time and that it's on hold.

Let's see... there it is. http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blogworld/...r=24&post=1276

Maybe I'm just a maroon, but I tend to think that Paul McCann is on the up and up.

Now, the word is that they couldn't get it nailed down in time.

He's ok, but nothing special. He doesn't appear to be 'plugged in' any more than Eklund. And his hockey knowledge is very garden variety and he'll rarely get more insightful than your average Preds poster on these boards and loves to repeat a lot of obvious information.

Oh yeah, and he called Timo Shishkanov 'a smallish forward' after the trade to St. Louis.

All in all, I don't mind him because he is better than the alternatives. Just wish we had a Pierre or Bobby Mac in there.

If you want a link to every deal that wasn't made, then there is a problem here.

well, you said it with such a smarmy air of confidence that i assumed you were doing more than blowing steam. A poster later showed a link that stated that the deal couldn't be completed before the deadline. There's a difference.

Heh, no doubt, and in Washington as well. Well, it will make for interesting speculation. Probably no more than a 2nd in the end.

The fact that it's close but not a done deal suggests that it's more than a 1 for 1 deal. What do you think? It could be as simple as a Witt/pick for a Nashville prospect or it could involve several players.
