Ah I see.

The GA in the last 5 games really has been much higher though.

I think we're reading too much into the stats. Having Werenski back will be huge! If Korpi never sees the ice, I like our chances against the Pens.

Don't know whether to take that as good or bad... hopefully it has nothing to do with Werenski.

I think its more about how they feel about Nutivaara/Harrington/Quincey (whichever doesn't play) as well as how close Murray is (as in, not close at all) to returning

Z-Jones
JJ-Sav
Harrington/Q/Nutivaara
Carlsson

Game 3 is Easter Sunday at 6 on CNBC - didn't see the rest of the schedule when NBCSN was revealing it (hasn't been released anywhere else yet).

Where did you get the faceoff times? NBC is saying 6:00 for Game 3.

At least the 6:00 on Sunday is a little more Easter-friendly. I was getting a lot of stinkeye when I told my wife the game on Sunday might be at 3:00 so we'd have to rearrange the brunch we are hosting.

They changed it a little from last night. Probably won't be the first time due to TV.

Two of three (potentially) home games on Sunday is great. Love the extra pregame time.

Game 2 on the ****ing NHL network. Do they realize they are forcing me to stream? The leagues TV policies suck.

enforce their will on the Penguins. Step up in Game 1 and say "we're not going to be any easy series. In fact, we're going to advance here." If they get a lead, like say, 3-1, don't relinquish it. Win a game on the road. Win all of the games at home. Shut down Crosby, but don't let Malkin and cast of secondary guys beat you. That's what happened last time.

I want to see the four lines rolling in wave after wave after wave of energy that suffocates the other team until the only way off the ice for them is to give up a goal. The play we saw during the streak. I think the players can do it. This team is at its best when they're not supposed to win. That hasn't been true for them probably since the end of the streak.

Game 1 is after two days rest. I think we win it.

Taking game 1 would definitely send a message.

In my mind if we can just take 1 of the first two in Pittsburgh - I'll feel a lot better about our chances.

Had briefly thought of playoff scheduling when we clinched, but forgot about it during the past few weeks as I focused on home ice and then on our regressing level of play.

Not only does CBJ have 2 days rest before Game 1, there are no b-to-b's. Following game 1, there is precisely one day in between each game (expected schedule, but nice to have it confirmed). Imo, an every-other-day schedule fits the CBJ rhythm.
The 16 game streak was preceded by 2 days off, followed by by 1-1-1-3-0-2-2-1-1-1-0-3-1-1-2 in between games. CBJ is an energy 4-line team, and while b-t-b might seem to favor them because of rolling 4 lines, I think CBJ is even better with 1 day of rest between each game, to get their legs back and crank the pressure back up. If both teams are tired, the skill of Malkin/Crosby can win out, but with one days rest I think Pitt still tired and beat up and our group, with less TOI, re-charged.

A 4-3 record wins each series; We were kvetching about 4-3 in early March, but would have taken 4-3 over the last 7 games...lol.
I like the fresh start feeling today...GO JACKETS!

It is a shame this series has to happen in the first round. I think the NHL should go to either 1-8 seeding or 1-16 cross conference seeding. The matchups would be pretty good. The East would be slightly different in a 1-8 seeding scenario.

Washington vs. Toronto
Pittsburgh vs. Boston
Columbus vs. Ottawa
Montreal vs. NY Rangers

The 1-16 would be a lot of fun too.

Washington vs. Nashville
Pittsburgh vs. Calgary
Chicago vs. Toronto
Columbus vs. Boston
Minnesota vs. Ottawa
Anaheim vs. San Jose
Edmonton vs. St. Louis
Montreal vs. NY Rangers - only match up the same in all scenarios

I'm going to game 1 in Pitt, tickets only were $65 compared to the 98 in Cbus

I am so excited for Game 1. I am confident that Jackets will be prepared and will want to get revenge for the past playoff meeting between the two.

I seriously was scheduled to work all 3 nights of possible home-games and 5 of the 7 nights the playoffs are on.. And, I only work 3 days a week! But, I did switch to get Game 3 off.

Playoffs are here! Go Jackets!
