Playoff Ryan .57

Hello friend. Nice stats. Playoff Neal only has 0.60 though.

But against the Blackhawks...

Playoff Neal: 0.83 pppg
Playoff Forsberg 1.00 pppg (6 pts in 6 playoff games played v. CHI).
Playoff Craig Smith: 0.83 pppg
Rest >0.51

Some Blackhawks playoff stats v. Preds:

Toews: 1.33 pppg
Kane: 1.17 pppg
Hossa: 1.00 pppg
Keith: 0.75 pppg
Seabrook: 0.67 pppg
Rest >0.51

So, yeah...I guess we both need to watch out for each other's best players.

Good luck and sorry in advance for cheering during your anthem.

As has been said before you really are not sorry as you wouldn't do it otherwise.

And let's be honest... doing that during the national anthem is just disrespectful to the anthem. If you want to cheer, cheer when it is over not while it is being performed.

Your Nashville Predators will be victorious, defeating the Chicago Blackhawks in six games on home ice at Bridgestone Arena. It's time, vamos los Perds!

Another stat that is kind of crazy, given that our special teams play has been a major discussion point on these boards all year. We had a better PP and PK than Chicago this year.

That doesn't help alot during the playoffs when the refs don't do their job and as a result you see few penalites.

I meant sorry in advance for other Hawks fans cheering during the anthem. I was at Bridgestone for game 1 a couple years ago and sang with everyone else without cheering. I agree it's disrespectful, but disrespectful to the local fans/rules, not to the anthem or the country. I'd argue it's patriotic.

Here's where it came from:

Quote:
Chicago was hosting the NHL All Star Game, and the game was being broadcast live to fans in the United States, Canada, and also to American troops overseas fighting in Operation Desert Storm. With the Gulf War in full force, and all eyes on Chicago, fans in The Stadium cheered louder and longer than they ever had before. With the broad audience, the legend of cheering the anthem in Chicago suddenly became a sports-wide phenomenon.

I know where it comes from and yes it is disrespectful to the anthem. If you want to be patriotic, sing and cheer afterwards.

I'm all for optimism, but that's a whole lot of stat manipulation to give an appearance of parity that wasn't borne out by results. There is no way the team with 7 less ROW was "better at playing hockey." I do believe, however, the skill gap is not nearly so wide as people want to paint it, they have just been much more consistent in their play than we have. If Lavy has this team motivated and focused (I'm doubtful), there is no question we can win the series.

The national anthem shouldn't be played at all before sporting events.

Not surprising for a lot of reasons. They started their run just as our window was opening and Det was starting to fall off and basically doing what Detroit did through out the 2nd half of the 2000s, blocking a path to a division title. Nashville starts to emerge as a top vacation/drinking destination and this lures hawks fans on weekend benders while seeing their team in town. The difference between the PredWing fans and the hawk fans are that the PredWing fans lived here and behaved better. Also include the housing crisis we're in right now and part of it being fueled my Chicagoland carpetbaggers driving the price up.

Not just sports to be salty about.

I still think Chicago will ultimately win in the end but I think the games will be closer than what people think. Of the games we played against Chicago in the regular season this year, two were w/ our back up goalies (Maz and Saros), which we lost by two goals each. With Rinne in we won one game against Chicago and lost two but one was by only one goal and the other one was close too by only one goal but we took Rinne out to have an extra attacker and Chicago ended up scoring two empty netters. So even if we end up losing having Rinne in net would be our best chance of winning as the games seemed to be closer w/ him in. The Preds need to score early and often and not let Chicago come back if they want the best chance to win. Ultimately though Chicago just finds ways to win when it matters and so I give them the edge. I hope the Preds prove me wrong though as I like to see them win. If any Preds team has a chance to win against them I would say it's this team. Whether they do it or not is another story.

Even if we don't win I like to at least see this go to seven games and be a ride for our lives.
