I don't mind Rasmussen especially in that 6 to 10 range just because it is a weaker top end and you could hit a home run on a guy who may be still getting used to that big body.

He isn't Virtanen who I think had really low hockey IQ. I think the Canucks messed up on Virtanen by not letting him go back to Junior his 19 year old season and just flat out dominate. They turned him into a 3rd line checker and that is what they are left with now.

Tri-City is going to be very good for a couple of years and I can see his production being very high in all situations. He might also end up being a winger at the pro level as well so there is that too consider.

I'd be more in favour of taking some of tbe riskier guys if we were a playoff team but until then I think we should stick to guys who are more easily projectable. Guys like Rasmussen and Makar could very well become two of the better players of the draft but I'm not too comfortable yet trying to swing for the fences when we get some guys on base like this. We should play small ball, incremental steps. Once we make the playoffs a couple time then I'd be more comfortable going for a couple grand salami picks.

You would love him.

Think Ehlers Nylander type from their draft year. Very smart, fast, dynamic, highly skilled centre. He is 6' 160 pound that needs to fill out but he is awesome.

One of these years it's gonna happen. One team will move way up and beat the odds. It's happened in the NBA. May as well be us I'd settle for #2 or #3 also and consider it a win.

Thx. I put in a few feelers to some former team mates from out there that still play, and all they said was: he'd light you up! well no kidding. Thanks for nothing fellas

Ok that is funny

Make sure you try to catch a bit of his play at the U18's. I doubt he falls to us now that the Marner, Ehlers, Nylander 6' skilled prototype that Martin is cut from are all shredding the NHL to pieces.

First time I got Jets in 2nd place

2nd - 15th time Jets stayed at 12th pick

16th time Jets had top pick lol

20th time, third pick

So 3/20 rolls, jets won a lottery pick when I did it. Not bad odds considering where we are.

Got the 2nd pick for Jets in the 10th try.

Man I always feel stupid doing those simulations. Every year.

It's time that we're playing playoff hockey so we can stop wasting our time on that stupid website.

Heiskanen won't play Finland's first game ( Slovakia Thursday night) in U18 WJC's. And yes i'll watch all Finland's games in U18 WJC's
HIFK ( Heiskanen's FEL team) is down 3-1 against Tappara in FEL playoffs.

5th semifinal game is tomorrow in Tampere.
If / when HIFK lose that game they'll advanced FEL bronze medal game.

If / when Heiskanen joins Finland's U18 WJC team it'll happen after FEL bronze medal game .

The original poster asked in the title of his post who could play in the NHL next season. So he was saying just Patrick or Hischier.

Oh I see damn mobile version doesn't have titles.

But to add onto that it's really tough to say. Those are the only for sures but even Hischier is a toss up, there is talk of him heading to Bern to play a season with his old team before signing. He is apparantly eligible for the AHL as well.

Lots of Jets fans should be very excited about the draft lottery. Odds of winning the draft lottery are about 1000 times higher than winning the 50/50 draw at a Jets game, so it's almost a sure bet, right?
